Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the PS3 has been pushed from March 13, 2007 to March 20, 2007. Great, I suppose we should be used to delays by now.

I received an e-mail from Gamestop after I preordered it. Of course they have a disclaimer saying date is subject to change and they are horrible at giving estimates for release dates but there must a be reason why they changed the date.

A delay of 7 days has nothing to do with the traditional of delays for PS3 games, most likely there is just some kind of stupid distribution problem that needs to be cleared up.

I pre-ordered my Oblivion about a week before PS3 came out in the States and I was updated on the March 20 release date in like December. This isn't a delay. It's been March 20 for a while now. God of War II was supposed to be on the same day, but it's now the 13th so maybe that confused some people.

ebgames.com changed the release date on Monday,  why would they change the date on Monday for no reason?

ebgames.com changed the release date on Monday, why would they change the date on Monday for no reason?

who knows... but i don't trust ebgames for anything. they had UT3 listed for a march 5th release just a few days ago.

Well, it's almost better like that. Oblivion would have kept me away from Motorstorm and God of War II for too long. But now, it comes out the same day as Armored Core 4. :(

March is too short! It should be 45 days! :P

it is called shipping cost. armor core 4 comes out that day im shore they delayed it because that would make less trips. they will be shipped together to make it cheaper for shipping. that is my guess.

Sony's been big on managing software releases.  It would make sense to ball up a decent amount of big hitters to make a big splash at EU launch.  However, it needs to be done in such a way that every title has successful sales without interfering or affecting the sale of any other title.  Kind of a difficult balance which is probably why we see dates bouncing around as they try to figure out the best combination of titles and when they should hit.

Games are printed close to where they are developped. So Japan for AC and America for Oblivion. If you were right, it would be more worth it to ship it along FEAR and God Of War 2, since it comes out on the same day.

ebgames.com is always more up to date then Gamespot, IGN, or any other review site when it comes to release dates...They changed the release dates for Oblivion, and FEAR well before Gamespot and IGN took notice, and now here we are 3 months later and those games still have not released. If you want up to date release dates, ebgames is the place to go, thats fact.

I remember when i posted that FEAR and Oblivion had been delayed, everyone was "liar there is no proof, prove it" i showed my proof was ebgames and everyone just laughed and said stuff like "HAHAHA ebgamse, nuff said"...But as usual ebgames was right.......
