No haven't seen any reviews yet, normally IGN reviews quickly, but also they havent reviewed it yet..

But I wouldn't be suprised if Gamespot give it a low 8 or something

Just because a game is long doesn't mean it's good. I personally really liked the PC version and I'll probably get it on the PS3

Agreed.  I sunk 170 hours into the 360 version & decided to trade it in towards the PS3 version, (just want more good games to play on my PS3).  This game is worth every penny regardless of what reviews say, (although most have been positive for PC & 360).  This was a must-buy game on the 360 & PC, no reason it would be any different on the PS3.

I think I put over 3 hundred hours into Oblivion. But I won't be picking it up on PS3 as I own it for 360, The game should get around a 9.

Man, come on! I sense more of that GS is biased crap...What other remark except that this game has already been played by millions of people one year ago? A game receives its rating based on originality too...the PS3 version won't bring anything new to the table, it's just going to be the PS3 version released a year later, that's it! It will still be good value for money, but not more than that...

I think it would be hilarious if it got a 3. I love the game, but Gamespot tends to disagree with most of my likes and dislikes.

It is still the exact same game, so it should at least get the exact same score, if no higher for KOTN and the Graphical updates.

I am a bit skeptical about the game mainly due to playing it on 360 for a long period of time. If you havent played it yet, its a must have. I may pick it up just to check out the new add ons 360 users had to pay for

The question is whether it will be reviewed as it stands or compared to the "last year" edition. We don't want the inevitable comparison because most of us (myself excluded) have never experienced last-year's edition and would like the value of the game quantified without bias.

If today you rate a game the same way you did a year before, then you can't be objective. Advancements have been made in the industry, new ideas have appeared in the meantime and so on...More time to spend with the PS3 hardware should translate into an almost bug free game filled with graphical amazement, superior in every way to what has been done on the 360 or PC, etc. Only this way you would be tempted to give the same or a higher mark.
That's how I feel about it and after reading the GS rating system, I think I'm right. Who cares anyway? If you love the game, just get it! Oblivion is destined to rule regardless...

im shore GS's review will go somthing like this. Oblivion for the PS3 is great it has better load times and some small graphic upgrades. on that note the game comes packed with knights of the nine exsapntion pack but the shiviring isles exspantion is no where to be found and has yet to be even talked about bring it over to the PS3. so in that sence if you never played this game and are looking for somthing to play on your PS3 get it! if you have already played the 360 or PC versions then there is really nothing new here, and your best bet is to stick with thoes. i predic the score will be between a 8.5 and a 9.0

Well, oblivion pretty much has endless replayvalue so it's not a "no option" even if you have it on other plattforms, atleast to me, I'm pretty tempted getting it actually. But maybe that's just me.

I wish you were right. But unfortunately we have alot of lazy developors who will just cut and paste a game to make a quick and easy buck. Just because there are advances in technology doesn't mean they have to use them. Example GTA san andreas for the xbox was released a year after the PS2's release and was exact replica.

It's been clearly stated many times, that the Ps3 version is graphically superior, and is not a direct port.

really Superior is a "Strong" word i would not go as far as too say it looks 10x better then the 360. just polished up a bit. i say the big thing between the 2 is the Load Times!

in some places on the 360 it could take any where between 30-40 secs! so if they could fix that, then thats pretty cool

Here is what IGN hands on had to say about the difference between the to versions.... The PS3 version of Oblivion isn't a simple port of the game either, although players who have picked up the 360 version will be very familiar with the control scheme. For one thing, the PS3 version has been optimized to take advantage of the Cell processor and hardware that the system offers. As a result, the game runs a lot faster than the 360 build. Entering dungeons or buildings results in a load of 3-5 seconds, compared to the 7-10 seconds or longer for the 360 version of the game. Similarly, the amount of framerate drops or hitches that cropped up in the wilderness as you accessed a new area on the 360 have been substantially reduced on the PS3 version. There is a plan to completely eradicate these issues as the game nears release, as well as fixing a number of bugs that were present in the other builds. Kiss the item duplication glitch goodbye. The visual presentation of Oblivion has also been significantly enhanced. While it was a beautiful title on the 360, far off environmental details often displayed low resolution textures. This has been fixed with new shaders dedicated to rendering the foreground cleanly with sharper details, so rocky landscapes now have craggy appearances instead of smooth, non-distinct surfaces. While there is still a fair amount of pop-in that occurs (which can't be helped due to the size of the world), the draw distance is farther than the 360 version. As a result, screens from the PS3 version should approach those from high end PCs running Oblivion, which is an impressive feat. We'll have more on Oblivion soon, but for now, check out these new screens.

chaosX303

the washed out x360 version got 9.6..........GS sd give the ps3 version atleast 9.6 since the bugs have been removed ,the loading times have been improved and the textures look better graphically.

However GS might give it a 7+ . If MOTORSTORM could get a 7.9 on GS ......so could OBLIVION ps3 version.

After all you are talking about review of a ps3 game on GS!!!

they wont give it a 9.6 when you can still get more content for the other versions. im shore the game will score high, but i think becaues the new exspantions is pretty much non exsitent on the PS3 and no plans at the moment to even bring the shiviring iles to the PS3. will hurt the score some.

did X360 oblivion came with Knights of the Nine.?

NO

the x360 version was reviewed when it had no expansion.

There were massive amount of glitches in the x360 version....plus graphically it didnt look that well..

The ps3 version has the best graphics which is visible at any resolution on any TV and it is coming with Knights of the Nine.

Besthesda also plans to release Shivering Isles in June on ps3

say what you want but for the most part i feel fairly happy with GS scores. there real hard on games and really strip it rite down to its bare bones! so when they do end up giving a game a 9.6 you know it really is great game if gamespot gave it such a high score!

It's been clearly stated many times, that the Ps3 version is graphically superior, and is not a direct port.Giddieon

really Superior is a "Strong" word i would not go as far as too say it looks 10x better then the 360. just polished up a bit. i say the big thing between the 2 is the Load Times!

yesh they said I beleive at IGn that the load times wen from 9 to 8 secs to 5 to 4 secs.... that is good news... I can't wait to get this game..

also more stable/higher frame rate and less crashes and bugs/glitches

This is by far the GOTY 2006.  Anyone who didn't get to play it on the 360 or PC - this is a must buy!

I have a feeling it will get a lower score than the 360 version, and rightfully so, since it is coming out a full year later.  However, I think they should have one of those "BEST->" icons, next to the PS3 version, indicating what the best version of the game is to get, as this one will obviously be superior.  In other words, what it did as an original release is more impressive than what the PS3 version will be now (when considering time), but if you were to look at them all now, you should get the PS3 version.

If the game is tha much better then it should have a better score then the 360 version.... I played many hours on the 360 version I can't wait till the PS3 version is out then I can make a better judgement... on it...

As with a lot of you, I have put in 125+ hours into Oblivion on the 360 and I'm seriously anxious as hell to get my hands on the PS3 version of the game.  When I heard it was coming out on the PS3 I was anticipating the game,  once I heard it was going to be better than the version I played, including better draw distances, fewer bugs, KOTN pre-loaded AND a new race, I went out pre-ordered it and started counting days.

YES! It is worth it.... Read or watch gamespot's review for the PC/360 verion of the game to get a general overiew of the game if you have no information about the game. It's a great RPG, but also an excellent game in general.
