Its the Elder Scrolls series not Oblivion series.
Anyway I prefer Oblivion over Fallout 3 and since they are the only games I have played of both the series, than I will go with TES.
Honestly, I cant make the pick because they are so alike but in a different period of time. Both of them are so enjoyable and I can play both of them again n again and never get bored of it.
I like them Both!!! Trying to figure out which is better!!!craigflamer1818
I've played all the Fallouts numerous times, and only played Oblivion. While I liked Oblivion, I felt like I couldn't realy get into it for some reason. So I am going to go with Fallout.
Is it the game oblivion vs fallout 3? or did you actually mean elder scrolls vs fallout?
because elder scrolls destroys fallout.. morrowind was awesome..
but it's kind of hard to choose between fallout 3 and oblivion.. i think oblivion still wins but its real close.. so we win..
I am starting to get pissed that Bethesda is turning their back on Elder Scrolls of late, The whole layout of the Elder Scrolls Tamriel world is just amazing, i think it is the best RPG series/Idea ever made. I want some Summerset Isle action!...........fallout series sucks....
Definitely Elder Scrolls better, I like the setting and time period better. I like the Swords and bows, magic and fantasy stuff like that, I liked Fallout 3 but, the ending ticked me off for one (I think they fixed it with the new DLC), I dont know, I couldn't get attached to Fallout as much as I could with the Elder Scrolls series.
The Elder Scrolls Oblivion FTW!!
Beat it 4 times (KoTN and SI too!)
All I know, I'm playing Fallout 3 for the fourth time (play through) and getting some DLC for it.
Oblivion, I've spent months over (200/hrs). Got Shivering Isles and I haven't played it all that much since I've completed everything in the game and done the *one* DLC for it.
I guess because Fallout 3 has more freedom in how you decide to play. I'm not fond of that whole super 15th Century/GPS/Walkie Talkie "cop system" Oblivion has. Steal a piece of cheese in one town (when nobody's looking may I add) and suddenly the entire Imperial guard (across the land) is after you. Like they Twitter each other from town to town. Quite a few times I've ran into "WTF?! How could that guy possibly know?!"
I like it a lot better when there are no "psychic NPCs"
Are you serious? Ignore Fallout 3, the Fallout series wins hands down on the merits of Fallout 1 and 2 alone. They offer you so much more freedom with character development than Oblivion or Morrowind. I know there's more to TES than those two, but so far everyone has compared TES to Fallout 3, which really doesn't do the series justice.
I mean, take Oblivion for example. You can make any sort of character you like, a Knight, a Wizard, a Monk, a wandering Scholar, but unless you make a character who is competent at combat, you're screwed. You CAN make a Scholar or Healer or a non-combat character, but he's going to get hurt. Badly.
In the original two Fallout games on PC, build any character you can dream of, and he can succeed at the game. If you want to make a fast-talking charismatic negotiating machine, he can get so much further than he would in Oblivion or Morrowind. The final boss in Fallout? I'm pretty sure that said character, focusing all his level-ups on charisma and whatnot could talk the final bad guy down without a shot being fired. That's proper freedom in character development.
I may be among the minority, but screw TES. I'd take old-school Fallout 1 over any RPG on the market today.
The Elder Scrolls! I played Morrowind and Oblivion. I played Fallout 3 also, it just wasn't quite as good as Oblivion
I like the Fallout series more, due to the more modern weapons there are and the VATs. I have only played Oblivion for a few hours and generally I was unimpressed.
im addicted to both games (FO3 , ES4 ) , i spent 130+ on Fo3 and 100+ on TES4 , fo3 was already completed but playing it again and finding lots of places, quests i didnt even notice on my first playthrough , im far away from stopping to play them yet cause having still so much fun , on the other hand there are games in my colection i dont even like to finish like gta4
