I just bought Oblivion IV yesterday, and my god what a useless game it is! An embarrassment to the PS3.

Maybe it is just not your style? I wouldn't pick it up because i don't like RPG's but from those who do, they say the game is very good.

LOL - It's pretty much the best. I downloaded the expansion over xmas and played my 3rd character through just to play it again... over 200 hours of toal play time through all the characters I played.. I got my money's worth.

And the fact that he called it an "embarrassment to the PS3" when it's one of the highest rated games out there and plays better than its counterpart on the other system.
EDIT:: To be perfectly honest, I think this was probably a case of him coming to the forums and asking "What game should I get that will last me the longest?" and got Oblivion for an answer and just blindly picked it up. Which is why I always say people should make their own decisions.
LOL What?:|
Oblivion is probably one of the best games of all time, how can you say it's useless?
Play a lot more and you might change your opinion. I was skeptical at the beginning, but after 160 hours i was left wanting for more. I can't wait for Shivering Isles to release in Europe!
Haha, you should do some research before you buy games! Then you won't end up with games that are popular but suck major weener because it's not your type of game
I consider myself abit of a RPG specialist but i couldn't get into Oblivion. The pace was too slow and there was no sence of urgencyfor me. You had to find some kid in the main quest but then you could equally spend the next couple of game time months doing side quests without harming the main quest objective. Lame.
There is also the fact that the monsters level up around you so there is no point over-leveling your character. Side quests are unbalanced. I stepped into a painting as part of a side quest but the monsters where far too powerful for my character. I couldn't leave and level up and come back. I was stuck in this painting doing shot and run tactics for hours. There are better RPGS out there!

It's one of the best western RPGs, but for other poeple who are not into western RPG's hack hack hack and hack more style, it's not really much of a game.

Wow over 800 hours that is truly impressive
Maybe it's just me but there is nothing impressive about playing video games for 800 hours...
800 + Oblivion = completing most of the missions or maby all of them
now that's impressive

Who cares that some shop owner is selling stolen goods? does all those innane side quests really make for a good RPG?
Wow, I love oblivion. There is sooo much to do. I have played this for around 150 hours! The game is awsome. TBH it got GOTY so those who dont like it are in the minority. The game's awsome, thats it.
I think oblivion was a good game. The thing is I didn't quite see it as an RPG. I don't like RPGs a lot, but I've played a few, like FFX, but oblivion is more like a first person combat game with RPG elements. I like FPS so oblivion was actually a really cool take on the whole genre, and it had enough of a free roaming world for anyone.

I neverliked western or Japanese RPGs, but Oblivion is so good that it made me look at these games with different eyes.[QUOTE="JustWiicredible"]I consider myself abit of a RPG specialist but i couldn't get into Oblivion. Seriously? I thought it was a great game although it got alittle repetitive after awhile
Hey guys, I just started Oblivion (just closed the Oblivion portal) and *nooby question alert* I was wondering how the hell do you sell items? and like where?
I'm becoming a pack rat and finding a place to sell would be great!

i completely 100% agree with u. i MIGHT get 800 hours playing in about half a year. maybe a whole year, i really dont know. thats even worse than the top people i see on CoD4 that have logged in over 15 days worth of play time! cuz 15 x 24 = 360 hours! n i have even seen people with 20 days of play time on there!
GO GET A LIFE! i love playin video games as much as the next guy on this site, but i still have alot of other thangs to do like skool n work n friends n exercise n everythng else. n everyone says i play games alot... jeez!

I like how everyone jumps to their own conclusions .. I got Oblivion the day it came out, and yes it did consume me for a while but it wasn't my life, 800 hours isn't a lot when spread out over almost a year .. It's only like a month or so worth of gaming spread over 12, some of you need basic math skills .. It's a good game and yes I haven't completed it FULLY .. I'm not going to play a game I'm not going to beat ..
Haha ..

actually most true rpg fans hate the game, its the n00bs who praise it.
i think the game is definitely flawed in its design but far from bad, it has alot of stuff to do and a ton of polish.

I agree, I can see the production value and exceptional time that went into it, but it is not my style of game. I think it is kinda a niche PC-RPG game that people either love or hateI researched, and heard great things about it. Don't get me wrong, i'm all for RPGs. I adore FFX. I was expecting something a bit like Diablo II on console but instead got a very repetitive game with absolutely no action to speak of. I'm gonna give it another shot right now, but i'm still very sceptical.
