Whenever i am in the XMB the triangle button is pushed even if I'm no where near the controller. It happens maybe once every 20-23 minutes. When i play a movie or a song it happens every 5 seconds and its been like this since i bought the ps3 in march and its really annoying me. Anybody have any suggestions at all?? Also my last problem with the ps3 is the constant "File corrupted" message on almost all my videos and a few of my songs. The songs doesn't get me mad because its like 1 corrupt for every thousand songs so no biggie there.

The movies on the other hand if not from the PSN store always give corrupt messages. The movie will play perfectly and then out of no where give "The File is Corrupted" message and then i have to go to that exact part and pass that 1 simple frame and then it plays again for a while before it does the same thing. I know its not my encoding because my pc plays the videos fine. My cpu couldn't have messed up the encoding because i have an AMD X2 4800. Any suggestions maybe a recommended freeware to convert movies to ps3 format?

The triangle problem can be fixed by turning off my controller but why should I? also does anyone know of any freeware apps to convert avi/wmv files to ps3 video because of these corrupted file messages i keep getting i figure it must be the software i used.

You shouldn't have to turn of the controller at all. man, i can just imagine it. But especially if a guy is playing games and all of a sudden the Triangle button is pressed for no reason at all, without touching it :? .. And, i've been searching for some time now for a freeware app that converts Avi files. but no luck finding any good program yet.

it happens to me all the time. mostly during ps2 games but sometimes it would happen during ps3 games too. i remember playing ff12 a couple of weeks ago and the menu would pop up without me pressing the triangle button every 30 minutes to an hour. so annoying.

I've had my PS3 60 gig since launch and have not had any of those problems, nor any real grievances at all with the system. As for vids, download Red Kawa (google it or something). I have used it to convert about 20-25 movies that I now have on my PS3 and only once did a converted file produce an error message and it was because I had tweaked the settings in Red Kawa, but I changed them back and don't have any problems.

No this has never happened to me.

I would bring it back wherever you bought it and i'm sure they will renew it.
