Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

I'm thinking about buying this game on PSN but I need to know how the graphics are. Alot of old games gives me splitting head aches because of how the poor the graphics are(FF VII im looking at you).

Just like any other PS1 game. It's from 2 console generations ago. If you didn't like FFVII's, then I doubt you'll like Oddworld's. It is a really fun game though. I still have my old PS1 copy and play it every once in awhile.

Abe's Oddysee is in 2.5D, 3D pre-rendered graphics with 2D sidescrolling gameplay. It's graphics are nothing like FFVII's. If you like that type of gameplay, then I'm sure you'll love it.

That's a shame. You're missing out on a lot of excellent games if that's your philosophy.

The graphics are only a shallow aspect of the game; you can still appreciate the style, story, characters, etc.

Aw, Oddworld nostalgia...

i think it still looks ok both played on my PS3 and PS2-I recently re-bought the game and Oddworld Exodus both on the original disc versions

I don't think he means graphics, I think he's talking image quality.

My copy of FFVII looks better on my PS1 hooked up to my standard def TV than when I played it in my PS3 through HDMI to my widesreen. Blocky as hell on PS3. Try hooking up your PS3 with standard cables to your tv. The distortion should smooth the image and might make it easier to look at.

Oddworld is hilarious BTW.

Abes Oddysee isn't rendored in 3D at all.. It uses detailed pre-rendored backgrounds with 2D-like platforming elements. The game still looks quite pleasing to the eye. I wouldn't bother playing it on an HDTV though. All ps1 games look like crap on a HDtv. I'd get the PC version to be honest.
