*Official HOME Closed Beta thread*

This is the official HOME beta thread. Post everything about the Beta here.

I heard that the Europe invites were sent Thursday, August, 14th & the Japanese invites were sent Thursday, August, 21st but the USA/Canada invites are yet to go out. My guess is today at around 3:00pm EST as Sony themselves said that they would go out at the end of the month of August and plus it actually follows a pattern with the rest of the invites. The Playstation store will be updated today which will also increase the chances of the Beta happening

FACTS ABOUT THE BETA:

• Current North America Beta Testers have received their E-mail
• North America has not received the Beta E-mails just yet
• You will only receive an Invite via E-mail. Any users asking for information via PSN are fake and should be immediately reported!
• In Home, locations will require a download once visited. They vary in size (30 to 60mb) which will eat up some HD space eventually. Keep an eye on your HD space
• In order to be accepted into the Beta you must be at least 18 years of age. It's a legal contract
• Sony posted in their Blog that they would use a variety of criteria to select user's. Such as Playstation activity, so chances are that those who are more active will get a higher chance.

*IMPORTANT*
Please bare in mind that this is still a beta. I've noticed a lot of posts from people who are considering this to be a fun toy to add to their PS collection. Don't get me wrong, it will be! Once it's released that is. But people who are chosen have to remember that they will have a large responsibility as to make sure the product is free of bugs. And please don't feel bad if you don't get selected. They can't pick everyone, and it will be quiet in HOME sometimes which will make it boring. The Open Beta is still slated for Fall 08', so it's still coming sooner than later! Just trying to keep everyone grounded as to what a Beta is all about! Good luck to you all, our keys are finally being cut!;)

Post here if you get "A Golden Ticket(E-mail)" for the Beta.

i cant believe the desperation people have with HOME... about 90% of people that have it say its not that great and they grew tired of it pretty quick. Its pretty aimless.

Everybody hyped GTA4 to godly proportions and were let down when it didnt live up their own concocted expectations, i predict the exact same thing for HOME

^Yep, the gamespot forums are still riddled with the same type of people. Came back after 3 months and they are still the same. Oh well what can I do?

If you don't realize I made this thread so that people could just post all their invites and disappointments in just one thread. Instead of flooding the forums

I don't get why people think because they bought a PS3 and bought some games that Sony owes them something, especially into a beta. Sony offers entertainment and if you want it you pay for it. Apart from the completely voluntarily exchange on your part, if they didn't give you the entertainment they promised, they you have room to complain. But not getting into a beta, they don't owe you that, its a privileged to get in.

So the PS Store update has come and yet NO word on the Home Beta *sigh* The PS Blog has no news about it and we are left with Life with Playstation..................waiting

You do know when you are in any beta you sign the NDA agreement saying you will not not talk about it at all and will get banned if you say or show something you were not supposed to. they will find you Ive seen this personally with someone in the closed home beta and the individual showed something he was not supposed to show to the public and was banned two days later.. So if you are accepted to the beta expect repercussions because you did not follow the NDA agreement.Rifle76

That only applies if you have the Beta. Everyone who doesn't have it is allowed to talk about it as long as we don't release any info about it. I have not signed anything and therefore will not be banned or notified LOL niether am I in the Beta

Also for those hoping to get into the beta you have to be 18 years of age to be in a beta. Many know a way around this but in just giving an heads up if that is the reason you have not been accepted into the beta.Rifle76

Yes if you get in the Beta you will not be allowed to reveal anything of course but it doesn't apply to me now since I'm not in the Beta nor are the people in this forum unless you are. We can speculate, think about, imagine all we want about HOME or the HOME Beta. So there is no need to hide.
