I originally only bought my PS3 for blurays and to rent games, I am finally using it more for gaming...got my collection up to 5 LOL

I've worked it out the UK RRP of it will come to £254 which I guess isn't a bad price really. However I do think it's still ugly tho (That price is converting the Euro price cost before anyone askes)

Nothing was taken away mate, everything current 80GB does is also in Slim.

Absolutely fantastic value for 299$. There is no excuse anymore not to own PS3 if you already don't have one. :D

seriously, why is the slim so ugly?

I've been a 360 guy this whole generation thus far (excepting the month or so I was game-less due to a RROD), but I think this is finally the right time to get the PS3, especially now that its exclusive library is strong and only getting stronger. Count me in when the Slim comes out!

Hopefully it won't have heat issues like the ps2 slim did when it first came out.

Looks nice but I wish they stuck to the spiderman font man that PS3 font now looks ugly...Still getting one though.

I highly doubt that.

PS3 is having a similar experiance to 360. After a few years people seem more interested because of massive price cut. It's olny the last year or so where 360 has really took off. When the consoles get price drops like this then it is where it takes off. I actually found the 360 to a be just as expensive as the ps3 when it came buying all the acceseries it needed to be like a ps3 such as wireless, battery packs and live. I found the ps3 ALOT cheaper and easier to pick up and play because everything is in the box. The PS3 in my opinion is more value for money now theres a price cut. People just don't always see it. After hours of announcement alot of people seem interested in the slim. I think Sony's time has come and they'd better not screw it up

God I can't wait to combo this with a new LCD...gaming heaven! Academic hell!

So for anyone looking at the pics and wondering where the heck you upgrade the hdd,i figured it out.I You look at the pic of the front here (high-res here ) You can see on the lower right corner an area with some vent slits and logos.You can tell its the hard drive area because its seperated from the rest of the front in a slightly funky way(the vertical seperation to the left goes all the way down and its slightly misaligned withe rest of the front,suggesting its removable),and on the bottom You can see a place to unlock,dislodge the panel,located underneath that same area.So no worries about upgrading th hdd.
