in my life, I enjoyed only 4 online games.
SF4
FFXI
Starcraft
Counter-Strike.
Rest of the games I enjoyed were all enjoyed offline. Online multi-player weren't much fun for me other than those outstanding ones.
Welcome to Gamespot. I like online games but it doesn't rule my decions on buying games. I hate online only games and when game make a half done campaign and only focus on multiplayer.
[QUOTE="Silent-Hal"]Welcome to the forums. I'm not a very big fan of online multiplayer myself. Out of all the times I've played my PS3 99% of that time has been spent playing single-player games. Nothing beats a good story-driven campaign IMO. rlg5150Amen.
just letting you know, one word posts can get you in trouble, also don't make game recommendation threads, or troll (flaming and talking about off topic thing are considered trolling).

Ok.. Sorry about the Amen. But I have to disagree on the rest. I'm not making any recommendations. I believe I asked what the offline to online gamer ratio was.[QUOTE="Cody13_2012"][QUOTE="rlg5150"] Amen.rlg5150

I'm all about Single Player .. I don't play online to often, but mostly because my connection sucks. I always finish the single player campaign before I even think about going online .. the exception was Killzone 2 ..
Wow, I'm surprised no one has gotten on here and cussed me out yet. 0_0 My roommate last year would argue with me all the time saying how stupid games were that I liked...... Then again I'm pretty sure Halo is the only game he owned.rlg5150
I would say that HE is the idiot.
MY best friend is a Call of Duty junkie. Can't get him to play anything else or appreciate anything else. It makes me sad...
I love the experience of offline with the story and all. I like playing online when i'm done with the game. But i never did this with COD
Single player please!!! It's already been said but I'll repeat anyway, too many games are getting criticized for having so-called "weak" or no multiplayer. Game reviewers are in large part responsible for this.Excellent & goodgames have actually been deducted minorreview points because of this (GAMESPOT & IGN ETC... lookin atchoo) Don't forget Sony & MSeither, as this is the results of their pushing devs intopushing this mostly unwanted "feature" onto us. I would like to see the industry come to grips with this by simply beginning to make online specific games for one. The market is there. A few in this thread indicated that they love online MP and others like myself would probably be more tempted to explore this form of gaming if it were an actual genre as opposed to tack-on after-thought content that I (and a surprising amount of others accordong to this thread) simply don't want.
Someone mentioned thetheir concernabout Bioshock2 now having forced MP. It scares the crap out of me but I think 2K are extremely competent and hopefully won't allow this to cloud the actual game. I say "forced" because ifI remember correctly MP wasn't ever really withing the scope of this new series. Is 2K genuinely interested in MP or are they going with percieved popular opinion as presented by MS, Sony, & the review industry in general. I really need to know when to shut up. Please forgive the rant.
Hi rig5150! welcome to the forums :D
I have never played my ps3 online. I don't even have a PSN id.I keep meaning to get it online, but I'm putting it off for as long as possible because I'm scared of online gaming taking up all my time! I love playing with my friends offline, but not many games support this which I think is quite sad. none of my friends play online either, we all have to get together and play a certain motion sensing console...
I never really play online because I never have internet on my PS3. But that doens't matter to me because I much prefer offline co-op/splitscreen games anyways. Of course, I am a huge fan of nice single-player games as well, but it is always nice to be able to play locally with a friend.
The single-player is my favorite part of games. The online usually isn't that great and gets boring fast. Showing off how well I can kill other players doesn't really amuse me. I prefer to cooperate with other players, not fight them. Unfortunately most gamers I know have an Xbox 360 and bought it just for the online shooting games. It makes me miss the good old days when there weren't very many online games and more people cared about the games with good single-player gameplay and good story, like Final Fantasy 10 for example. My friends and I would talk about how far we were in the game and what level we were and how many summons we had. Then when we all beat the game we would talk about the ending. Now all they talk about is owning people on Halo or Gears of War and it's just annoying. I miss letting my friends borrow games that I thought were really good, or borrowing games from them. Now they aren't really interested in the games I have and I don't really like the games they got. None of my friends have a PS3 or Wii, they all just have Xbox 360 so that wouldn't be possible anyways. Although I just recently fixed up an Xbox 360 with RROD that someone threw away. I was excited at first at the thought of a free Xbox 360, but soon realized there were no games for Xbox 360 I really even wanted to play except for maybe Lost Odyssey. The only online games I've really enjoyed were GunZ, Maple Story, and Phantasy Star Online Ep 1 & 2/Blue Burst. I kinda like the online for Grand Theft Auto 4, Little Big Planet, and Rock Band 2, but the offline is the most important part of a game for me. I'm not gonna have the online part of a game decide whether I enjoy a game or not. Especially when I don't have any friends with a PS3 to play the online with me. There are times though when I actually enjoy a shooting game like the multiplayer in Resident Evil 5 and the Nazi Zombie survival in Call of Duty: World at War.(Sorry about changing the subject to shooting games. I don't mean to bash on the whole shooting game genre. I'm just stating how overrated shooting games can be, especially when it comes to the online.)
By the way, don't get mad at me for the comments I made on the Xbox 360. I don't mean to disrepect the Xbox 360 in any way. I actually think all systems are great. I would buy all of the systems if I had the money. I think everyone should stop trying to prove which system is better and just agree that all systems have their pros and cons and people have their own preferrances on games. We all know that will never happen though.
(Sorry for the large amount of writing. I know most people wont even bother to read this, lol. I just get carried away sometimes. :D
I'm mostly an offline gamer, Resistance 1,2 and Motorstorm 1,2 mostly. However that other game for that other console. With the Arbiter. Have me almost addicted to online play.
I personally am more into single player, offline games, but I'm pretty sure there are way more online lovers out there.blazndragon0+1
There are a lot of offline players but the ratio between them and online gamers would be a pure guess. For myself, I am only an offline gamer who enjoys co-op over multiplayer. It is a matter of choice and likes.
First off, welcome to the forums.Hope that you enjoy your stay. Here is your welcoming rootbeer and fur.Now.I have to agree with you,I like playing games online as much as the next guy,but nothing will ever beat the great feeling of playing through an amazing singleplayer experience.K1LLR3175I second that welcome, the rootbeer is great. I also agree on single player gaming. Online is fun, but I prefer co-op to competitive. Most of all it's the being an active part of the storytelling.

Ya, I know, I was just letting you know because I see recommendation threads get locked all the time, I was just letting you know. Also, don't bump really old threads, that got me modded. I'm just helping you know the general rules here, you really haven't broken any.
