oh my god today i went to eb to look at some games for psp and i saw these two guys lookign at the ps3 and a worker went to them and said i hope you dont get that do you have a 360 dont give it up ( these are all his words ) the ps3 sucks they dont have any games no exclus they guys where like wont they be getting gta he was like yea but they only got becuase they gave rockstar 50 million dollers the guys where like yea but we are waiting for mgs4 he was like oh yea thats not exclus is comming to 360 its all but been confirmed and i steped in and was no that will never happen and he kept on saying its all but confirmed over and over geeze i hate those people all of them in all the game stores say the same thing who thinks mgs4 wont be exclu im soo darn mad for realyosefeayala

Eh give and take with all employees of a company I say.  Everyone has an opinion jus like bumholes, they all stink y'know.  But he may not be far off on exclusive stuff.  Remember how PS3 fanboys were laffin themselves to death that assassin's creed would be a ps3 exclusive, only to have it blow up in there face.  I mean don't get me wrong Metal Gear will come to ps3 no doubt, but exclusive is a tough word to say nowadays.  Especially if Sony isn't the publisher, it's Konami.  They won't jump ship on the ps3, but it's all about money it'll be a cross console game sooner or later.

MAN THEY ARE LOSERS! I swear, they only work their just because they can get the job easy, nothing else. They tarnish the image of video games...they really do. They are suppose to act as representatives on behalf of teh gaming industry, but they are, as u said, DUMBA$$ES! No doubt. 30 year old geeks who still live with their moms, or ppl who dress as bums. Either way, their appearance sorely stands out in the gaming scene.

I remember returning my first game at EB, it was the first Knights of teh Old republic. That game was decent, but man, I didn't like the Star Wars universe and the gameplay was boring AND tedious...anyways, when I returned it, the guy who was exchanging it had a big goofy smile on his face and started to reminisce about how this game was SO GREAT and how he "spent weeks ANd weeks with it"...wat a...wat a...wat a -dare I say it- NOOB! Seriously, just....ARGGHHH lol WAT A NOOB THAT GUY WAS! Lol The whole time he was talking I was just rolling my eyes...I seriously thought that guy was out of his mind. Man, if he thought THAT game was so good, he obviously didn't try World of Warcraft (iunno prolly wasnt out yet maybe lol) or MGS2/3...ARGGHHH lol. I was still an early teen back then...and what was he? 25? I even had better taste then THAT GUY! lol *waves hand like swatting a fly* Ughh...

Anyways...EBGAMES/GAMESTOP=GOOD QUANTITY IN GAMES, BUT BAD QUALITY IN SERVICE.

Even the employees in the electronic section at my local London Drugs act much more professional then the employees at EB...and come to think of it, London Drugs has much better quanitity than they do, too! I actually found a SIXAXIS there the other day, while in Futureshop, EB, and in BestBuy they're all sold out.

The "gaming" industry needs better representatives in order for it to really flourish as a source of mainstream entertainment. That, unfortunately, can be said with confidence and with disgust.

I work at a GameStop as a game advisor, and as a die-hard Sony fan am just as shocked and aphauled as you must feel. Just joking kid, although I really do work at a GameStop. I have an assistant manager who's just a little fart and I hear him talk about how the PS3 sucks too. I hate it when he does that because I think the system rocks. So here's what I want you to do, go back into the store and ask to speak to the Head Manager and only the Head Manager, they usually work during the mornings and early afternoons during the work week. If he ain't there just call them during those times. And tell that guy, or gal, what you overheard and how you're pissed off at that specific game advisor. Mention the fact that the PS3 is in its infancy and as such must be nurtured and cared for, not left out in the cold. Mention the fact that this game advisor, I assume, believes MGS4 is coming out for 360 which is complete bullcrap. And finally hit him where it hurts by saying that misinformation like the one his employee is spreading will not only hurt sales but tarnish the respectability of his store. That should almost get him to fire this guy! And too all you other haters out there who think all people who work at game stores suck, you're just plain wrong. Who do think got game stores like Funcoland to start the policy of buying back your 'near' worthless games for in-store credit, and then cash! Who do think has to prosess, clean and then retrieve your used games whenever you come into our stores. Who are the people that inform you of money-saving promotions going on in the store that you didn't know jack about. We, yes I work as a "game advisor", are not representatives like you think we are. We're low paid employee's of a system that's simply created to drain you of your assests so that their's can get bigger. GameStop, the company that owns EB, made record profits, like somewhere in the billions, off of you and your mother's stupidity for buying videogames in the first place to satisfy some ridiculous and growing American need to be entertained at the push of a button. Now I know that all this sounds hypocritical of me considering that I work for a video game store and I freaking love video games like Resistance and MGS4, but as hypocritical as it might sound my statements don't detract from the truth that I'm just another ant in the colony, as are you. So the next time you come into our store's, don't expect us to hold you by the hand while "you" ask questions like what kind of Pokemon games are out for the SP or whats the difference between the PS3 and the 360. Be a good little consumer and find out for yourself by going online and visiting a user-friendly website like this one to find out what you want to know and then trek it to the store to pick up your merchandise. now with all the systems (ps3, wii, 360) having one year warranty's out of the box...Gamestop and eb games warranty doesn't kick in till the year after your purchase till then you have to deal with the system manufactuer.

Also my eb doesn't have the problem with un informed advisors...you have to study to sale the reserves. which game is hot...what good about it. yada yada yada. Matter of fact I can't seem to recall myself ever having a problem at eb. Guess I've been lucky.

All i know is, at my Gamestop, in Iowa, they pay minimum wage ($5.15/hr) and give employees 10-15 hrs/week. i know cause i interviewed there back in high school and decided i'd rather work at Micky D's for way more pay and hours lol. It's no wonder with that pay their employees are rude and too opinionated when all you want to do is buy something and not have a debate about everything you want to buy. This i why i go to Wal-mart, always no debate and they don't always ask if you want a magazine subscription, ALWAYS. lol

Side note - Anyone remember back when gamestop/eb used to sell new games $5 more expensive than the retail stores? They probably did thinking people would think there used games were better value or people now know what they should pay for a new game...either way i feel sorry for the chumps that bought new games from them back then.csward

Thats how those employees get there hours...the stores are based off a few key things...this is how employees get raises, more hours, etc...

First the stores are based off of comp and used comp Percentage

Then there rated on GI's, Reserves and Customer service.

Employees are rated off of GI's, Reserves and Customer service precentages. The better the numbers the more hours for the store and therefore the more hours for the employee.
