Yes, I'm sure it'll operate fine on your morning wood, but that's not really a comfortable position to be playing in.

I'm talking about it getting too hot and damaging the components in the PS3.

A wood surface (any hard surface for that matter) is best for any console or electronic device that needs to breath and or push out exhaust. So yes you are doing the right thing, just make sure the hot air can escape, I.E. make sure its got plenty of open space around it. With it getting hot to the touch, this is normal, that is just where all that hot air exits. Nothing to be worried about.

Wow Denji and GTR. Way to be a bunch of hoods. The guy came in here asking (albeit in a poor way) if he can do damage to his PS3 by having it on wood because he has it on wood and feels it heats up. It's no wonder this forum community has plummeted in the last few years when people can get accosted for asking a simple question.

Aww come on. You cannot deny it was a rather dumb question... Especially one that doesn't need to be asked in the first place:lol:

u will only damage it if the machien cant breathe. allow more then 30cm (or 12inches) from the front and back of the machine and don't enclose it in a cabinet. for reference, mine lives wood (has had a phat ps3, phat launch 360, wii, slim PS3 and XBOX S) with no issues. its purely a ventilahtion issue.

Your PS3 is gonna burn the wood, put it somewhere else or put a strong glass table on the dresser, I guess its ok if you play like 1 hour a day though

You guys didn't have to be jerks with it. Some people don't have a strong knowledge in technology. I'm sure you're not very smart in some parts of your life, this person was asking a question and you guys wouldn't give him a decent response.

Anyway, you should be fine.
