OMG just got YLOD!!

My ps3 just died with Resistance 2 inside is there any safe way i can remove the disk. I phoned sony they said that they will pick my ps3 up on thursday the 4th of december and send it back to me and they said they will ship the game back 6 weeks later :(

my friken died a couple months ago....i dont even know what the heck happened...it just YLOD on me and i give my ps3 TONS of space to breath (wierd)

plus it costed me 200 bucks canadian to get a refurbrished one....INSANE  it cost me nearly 800 bucks to buy my ps3 (got it at launch)  such bull

so its the 60gb's its happening to, it happened to mine aswell.

i have a choice of 60gb/80gb  but im thinking of asking them to send me a 80 instead of a 60gb.

check it out, about ylod,  90% of 60gb.

so im about to call sony up for a 80gb. its also got a self clean fuction to prevent clogs and clear fans that 60gb dosent have.

i use to do that, and now it broke.

anyway, i meant sony calls centre is closed and ima try to call em up tomorrow and get an 80gb instead of 60gb as it seems they have more problems. :(

Does anyone know which PS3 Model (except for 60gb) can play ps2 games ?????

That's all I've been coming across myself. 60 gigs that crash after a year or so. Feb 28th '09 would've been year 2 for me.

Well I have a launch 60GB. Never had any problems *knocks on wood* You have to keep in mind, give the system some time to cool down, meaning don't play for 24 hours non-stop, clean the air vents occasionally with a handheld vacuum, give the beast some room so that it can breath, and please please please put it somewhere high to prevent anything dropping, spilling on it. (I've heard people saying if the warranty included dogs pissing on the PS3. Yes it is a sexy black box who wouldn't want to claim as his own)

Also, don't turn the system off directly from the main power switch at the back. First be sure that it's on standby (you can use the PS button), then you can turn it off from the back.
