OMG now former game developers are dissing the PS3. WTF man.

This really has nothing to do with system wars. 

Through its lifetime, the (Atari) Jaguar had an overall low number of titles due to being difficult to develop for. This was due to serious bugs in the released hardware (such as a memory controller flaw that could halt processor execution out of system RAM). Customers complained the Jaguar controller was needlessly complex, with over 15 buttons.

By the end of 1995, after the entrance of the Sony PlayStation and the Sega Saturn, the Jaguar's fate was all but sealed. In an interview [3], Sam Tramiel, CEO of Atari, touted that the Jaguar was much more powerful than the Saturn (which was untrue) and slightly weaker than the PlayStation. He also predicted the price of the PlayStation to be $500 and said that any price from $250 to $300 would be price dumping and that Atari would sue to block sales (they never did). His comments were selected as #3 in GameSpy's Top 25 Dumbest Moments in Gaming.

Capcom is'nt! RE5 will be released as PS3 exclusive in Japan. It will be released here on PS3( woot!:D) and 360.:evil:

That atari founder guyjust dissed the ps3. I'm getting the PS3 despite but still. As a gamer that favors Sony the most (even though I intend on getting all the next gen systems at some point.) you cant help but not like Sony's chances all that much. I've been the type of person that avoids bad news or at least not make such a big deal out of them like others. But you cant hind certain things. Like what are the chances of Sony losing certain exclusives like MGS4. These developers are wasting milions making a game for a certain system and if that system has little demand what is stopping them from either stop deveopment overall or just cancel it for that system and go on a different system. Plus otehr them exclusives like MGS4 and FF and manybe some others , the 360 now has the best selection of exclusives. Gears of war , Bioshock will be a great game again a exclusive for the 360. Dead rising , SC5 , Halo , etc. Sony only has a ew exclusives and everything else will be on multipiple consoles. Frst fanboys bashed the 360 and now game developers , add to that the never ending cycle of horrible news for the PS3 since E3 you cant help but to worry a little. Like I said I always intend on buying all systems but I tend to favor a certain one and as someones who favors Sony , I'am now starting to worry. I hope somewhere down the line molre exclusives games will come out for the PS3 and I hope that games like FF and MGS4 remain PS3 exlusives.Bam_Butch

I like all the next-gen systems and when I hear people bashing any of them, it makes me angry. So what if PS3 is hard to develop for? Deal with it, get around it, and develop for it. By doing this, one might learn some cool things that they can do with the hardware and not anywhere else. PS2 had a learning curve, but look at the great software that was/and will be on it. If a developer is not up for a challenge, then they should not even say anything on the subject.

Yeah, but that's Sam Tramiel... the heads over at Atari have a history of doing stupid things (read up on their little Donkey Kong fiasco with Nintendo... priceless). But this isn't just some random business school grad... this is Nolan Bushnell... Computer Space? Pong? This guy practically invented video games. You can't just discount the guy's opinion because you've got a pre-order. This guy knows the industry... seen things come and go... including the company he founded (note that said company was not in his hands at the time of it's demise) and whether or not his predictions end up being true, it's not like the guy is some random analyst.

Incidentally, since someone mentioned the Jaguar, Tempest 2000 is probably one of the most addicting games ever.  If you ever get a chance to play it you probably should.  Pretty much the entire library for the Jaguar sucked, but there were one or two games that Atari released that were absolutely stellar.

DEAD RISING is a good game but not a GOOD NEXT GEN GAME.

RESISTANCE is on the same par as GEARS.

HEAVENLY SWORD TRASHES just about everything.

KILLZONE 2 would kill HALO.

BLUE-DRAGON is nowhere in the *** radar except FAMITSU.

FF ................the biggest franchise in the whole world.

MOTORSTORM................no comparison.

DMC 4 ......no comparison.

WHITE KNIGHT STORY ....................trashes both B DRAGON and lost odyssey.

MGS4..................no comparison.

RATCHET and CLANK............no comparison.

GOD OF WAR ps3.................no comparison.

TEKKEN 6...........no comparison + a huge system seller.

F1 ...........could a game be made any real than this?

VGT................1000x more defined than GT4................take that FORZA/PGR3

BIOSHOCK/ALAN WAKE are coming to the pc as well......................no big deal.

LAIR...............the most expensive game ever made(each char has 100x the polygon and textures as each char in GEARS)

FF12 is the no 1 selling game this wek followed by NW2 and GEARS.

PS3 would be getting a lot of must have exclusives down the line.............theres no competition.

being a far superior console...........there would be massive differences in graphical quality/gameplay in ayear or so.

I am hoping to play XMEN 3 on my ps3 on NOV 17.

with an inferior console MS has no chance .

Wii would give ps3 a run for money in Both Europe/***.

x360 is dead in *** and is going to die in Europe very soon.

In US ps3 would beat competitors by huge margins.......but both x360/Wii would do quite well.

I am in CANADA........i dont see people even talking about x360 here.............the only thing thats in everybody's mouth is the ps3.

Game Developers aren't the only ones, its now the makers of the PS3 hardware as well. 

Back when Sony announced the specifications of the PlayStation 3, everyone asked if it meant the end of PC gaming. After all Cell looked very strong and NVIDIA's RSX GPU had tremendous power. We asked NVIDIA how long it would take until we saw a GPU faster than the RSX. Their answer: by the time the PS3 ships. So congratulations to NVIDIA for making the PS3 obsolete before it ever shipped, as G80 is truly a beast.

X360 has already flopped...........except US the selling figures of its hardware is well below par.

In *** it sells 1000 per week.

In europe it sells 100 k versus 600k for DS and 400k for ps2.

only in US it is doing relatively well...............but performing well below both DS and ps2.

Lol @ Atari, honestly who cares what he has to say about developing.

I don't think Gears is an exclusive because it is going on the PC.

I don't think Bioshock is an exclusive at all because its going on the PC and PS3 (not sure about PS3 but possitive about PC).

And No halo game has been exclusive so far so I can't see Halo 3 being an exclusive.

So this is why I took my xbox 360 money and spent it on my PC.
