I have the PS3 and PSP for a while now but never tried the remote play function until just now. It's SO FREAKING COOL.

I configured the connection via internet. So for example, if I am at work, I can connect my PSP to the internet and remotely turn on my PS3 at home, after 1 minute my PSP screen will become the actual PS3 XMB screen at home, I can access all my music, videos, photos and even PSN games!!!! The respond is so fast! I tried streaming a movie and both video and sound is smooth as butter, I even tried playing one of my PSN game castlevania SoTN, there's a small lag in control but still very playable. I even manage to launch Modern Warfare 2 but couldn't do anything besisde browsing at the main titles.

This is extremely cool because I no longer have to convert video files and tranfer them to PSP, I can just remote play and stream all my mutlimedia files at home.

When you're done, you can turn off the PS3 remotely.

This technology is AWESOME! Respect for whoever invented this.

Yeah it's quite cool. What's even cooler is that it is now becoming possible to play PS3 disc games on your PSP through remote play. I think the only game to support this feature right now is Blazblue, but hopefully more game devs will take advantage of this in the future.

It takes a little while to set it up if you don't know what your doing, but once you do I think it's worth it; even if you rarely use it. I don't think playing games with remote-play is usually worth it since the slight lag tends to kill it. I think you'd need a pretty good connection on both ends to avoid it.

If you can play Fat Princess or PS1 titles on PSP, then I would be a big sucker for this Remote play stuff.

You can... not Fat Princess though, but I've played my old copy of FFVII through remote play before.

I don't know about fat princess (probably not) but you can play ps1 titles. they can be either on the hard drive or the physical copy can be in the PS3 either way will work. but again lag usually kills the experience.

Unless it's FFVII, lol.

RPGs actually work well with this... there isn't much need of reflexes or timing.

ya i think those are the only games I'd try and play using it. I did play a little xenogears and star Ocean 2 over remote play and that worked okay, then I tried to play ghost in the shell and that was a disaster.

Ah my friend, congratulations on discovering Remote Play. I had been using it since it was available with FM updates. My favorite part? Whenever there is PSN update I can remotely via my PSP log-in online to my PS3 anywhere with WiFi connection in the city, start downloading any demos or videos.

By the time I get home from work, it all ready. ;)

LMFAO, that would be a great way to keep an eye on crazy pets. I'd love to do that to make sure my cat isn't doing anything dumb. Remote Play is a cool but underutilized feature.

PS3.

It only does Blu-Ray.

It only does Wi-Fi.

It only does Online Gaming.

It only does random, completely pointless, yet amazingly cool things. (Spying on pets, anyone?)

It only does everything. (Besides play PS2 games...)

2nd day since I discovered remote play... I found out you can actually watch HQ youtube videos on the PSP. Just remote play and use the internet browser on the PS3. It works surprisingly well.

BlazBlue works well enough on remote play. The controls hurt the experience more then the lag though surprisingly. All in all....it's not a feature I'm interested in at all. If I want to play PSP, I'll play PSP games.
