I loved the game the first play through, watched every cutscence and everything (the mission briefings were a bore though).

Now on my second play through a month later,, its kind of a letdown. No doubt the guys who made the game know action, and how to make a great game,,, but they could use a little help in the dialogue and delivery department. Its a bit too overdone, to the point where I roll my eyes at some of the overdramatic and cliche moments in the cutscenes... " I only get off my bike when I fall in love",, just to name one.

Still a great game, probably the best single player experience I'll have for a while,, but come on guys, this storyline isnt the holy grail some of you make it out to be

the story is great, dialogue might not be, but the story is great, even though, mgs has always been like that overdone dialogues and all that, but thats what makes it great.

I hate to sound rude, but why did you have to make a thread about it? :? In my opinion, the story is right next to, or above, God Of War's for the best story ever.

I quite agree. If they focused more on making the other parts of the game longer and with more depth, while cutting out some of the cutscenes, it would have been a great game for me. It seems that because they allowed a shooter option instead of stealth, you can run through the game faster than you can see all the cut scenes.

Well the line that you mentioned " I only get off my bike when I fall in love" was a line Eva used in metal gear solid 3. Its just another one of those little things that the genius Kojima threw in for the real hardcore metal gear solid fans (like myself)

Haven't played many games have you?

Bioshocks story is pretty good for this generation.

Probably not. You tell me. :D That's pretty much every game I've ever had, except for my old Pokemon games I played when I was a kid. I haven't played Bioshock, sorry. I've heard great things though.

Yeah, can't wait to play Bioshock, i'm a PS3 owner only reason i haven't played it yet. But guys in my opinion, if you want a true heartfelt story, check out Final Fantasy X. Best story ever in my opinion, very curious to see how Bioshock will compete against it.

I don't have it on my profile, but I've played like four or five times as many games as you have.

Cool, that's good to hear I guess. :D That wasn't sarcastic, in case you were wondering. :D I don't buy that many games throughout the year. I'm just barely getting more than 5 a year, so I see where you are coming from.

bioshocks story was not that great. been there done that storyline, and it was very predictable. did bioshock have the atmosphere/environment, absolutely. story was ok, but MGS was better in my opinion.

as for the topic, i tried to find a video of spongebob squarepants where that god guy regurgitates (sp) a crabby patty to eat it a 2nd time...thats kinda what I felt playing through the game a 2nd time. Its not the holy grail by any means though. one scene I didn't really like the first playthrough was the meryl and johnny one, but I actually liked it alot more the 2nd time.
