I've seen several people complaining about the price of the console and especially the price of the memory cards. Most people actually don't mind paying for the console and a game, but since they have to buy an expensive memory card they cannot be bothered.

Obviously, if it's not the price, but the games that is the problem just ignore this thread.

So here's an idea:

BUY USED

I know a lot of people don't like to buy consoles (and other expensive electronic) used, but now's the best time to do so. I'll list some articles with used PS Vitas to show you what I mean (prices are in kroners - Danish valuta):

New console from retail store: 2000kr (keep this number in mind)

2450kr for the 3G version

4GB memory card: 189kr

8GB memory card: 249kr

16GB memory card: 430kr

32GB memory card: 700kr

Most new games: 300-400kr (depending on the store)

1 new console + 1 game + 1 16GB memory card = 2730-2830kr (also keep this number in mind)

So, here are the examples:

#1. Brand new, comes with original box, 16GB memory card, Dungeon Hunter + both GOW (PSP) games and Gran Turismo (I assume the games are on the memory card. Price - 2000kr.

#2. 1 month old, comes with 8GB memory card, Uncharted and Fifa + cover. Price - 1950kr.

#3. 2 weeks old, comes with 32GB memory card, Ridge Racer and Everybody's Golf + 2 bags and a screen protector. Price - 1900kr.

#4. Only recharged twice, comes with original box, 4GB memory card, Unit 13 and Modnation Racers. Price - 1895kr.

#5. Age unknown, comes with 4GB memory card, Rayman. Price - 1800kr.

#6. Not opened yet/still sealed, no games or memory card. Price - 1800kr.

3G units

#1. Age unknown, comes with original box, 2 x 4GB memory cards, Uncharted. Price - 1950kr.

#2. Age unknown, comes with Dungeon Hunter. Price - 2300kr

NONE of the above mentioned examples have a price tag higher than what a new console alone would set you back in a retail store and almost every examples (expect for one) comes with either a game, a memory card or both. 4 out of the 8 examples comes with a 8GB+ memory card. It's almost guaranteed that none of them have been played on a lot, some are like knew (one of them still sealed). ALL of the above mentioned are from ONE homepage and they're all randomly picked tonight. I've also seen better deals, including my own (Uncharted, Wipeout, 8GB memory card + console for 1800kr).

If a price tag of 2700kr + (for console/game/memory card) is too much for you, buy used. You can get it all for UNDER 2000kr and if you don't like the particular game that comes with it then trade it in at Gamestop and buy yourself something you like - hell there might even be a used game in the store you can get with little to no extra money spent.

So why is now a particular good time to buy one? Because as I mentioned, you're guaranteed that the console is relatively new.

* Be sure to ask the buyer if he has a receipt, either from the retail store or just an e-mail, just to be sure (most should have it).

* I know I don't have any links to support my "claims", but trust me there are tons of deals like this.

* I know that the prices are unfamiliar to you, but just take a second to look on them and you'll realize there's a lot of money to be save. If you're still confused just remember that 2000kr for the console alone is the regular price in a retail store.

* I didn't convert the various prices to dollars because 2000kr = $350.

* If any of you want links I can provide them.

I hope this helped some of you to realize that just because the console and the memory card is rather expensive, you can still get one for a reasonable amount of money.

Did you even bother to read the third sentence in my post? "Obviously, if it's not the price, but the games that is the problem just ignore this thread." Besides the text mostly consists of examples that are easy to read.

considering its a wall of text isnt hard to read it (thank god for pharagraphs)

your example is good, the price difference is considerable compared to a brand new item, but personally i prefer to buy electronics (cheaper or expensive ones) new, since you dont really know how the first owner used them or if he let them fall, you cant see if somethings is wrong inside so i always buy brand new electronics.

hope your post be helpful to ppl that doesnt care of buying used stuff, or if they know the first owner like a friend, work mate or something alike would be better.

thanks for the info anyway and would be great to see some links and the prices on dollars since most of the ppl are to lazy to even continue reading when they see the currency isnt USD

1. Those offers doesn't work for Europeans and if you haven't noticed a lot of gamespot's members Are just that. 2. Those offers Are only temporarily. 3. Buying used can net you more, look at example 1,2 and 3. 4. There Are most likely better deals of used consoles than those I found. I've seen deals with a barely used console + 3-4 games + a memory card (8gb) for less than what a new console would've costed.

True and I completly understand your opinion. On the other hand buying used now is almost a guaranteed succes since people Are not selling because of faulty hardware, but because they Are dumb and didn't know what they were buying. Besides, the PSV is robust as hell, I've seen youtube clips of people doing drop tests and the PSV passed with outstanding remarks. At any rate one should always make sure to get the recepit along with the console. Anyway it's entirely up to peoples personal opinion on the matter, Im not trying to convice people into buying used I'm merely just trying to inform people that it can be done cheaper, especially if they cannot afford a 16GB memory card. Keep in mind that I live in a very small country ((population of 6 million people), so there should be a better chance to find better deals in other countries.

well I wanted to show people that it's quite possible to get a PSV with a memort card for a reasonable price, unfortunately it's impossible for me to convert Kr to USD properly. For instance, the retail price of a PSV console is 2000kr in Denmark which is $350 :-)

not trying to be smart here, but you could say the same thing about majority of gamespot members being non european, thus not being able to relate as in the US its 250 for a vita. The offer is temoporary but still there none the less, and yes buying used can save you tons of cash i frequently do that but i really like to open new things =D

Check used on Amazon and Craigslist. I saw a guy sell 6 games, 2 memory cards (a 4 and an 8) and his wifi Vita for $200 on CL.. I was going to buy it but by the time I called him the next day it was gone. There are deals to be had, you just have to find them. Buying new isntmust.
