im really on the fence of buying a ps3 there pretty freakin awesome i already have a wii and a 360 but the ps3 willjust complete it all but the price tag is $600 for the good one and thats the one i would want and thats a considerbly large amount of money I mainly play games for the online play and a little bit for the story mode so heres my questions

1.What Are Some Awesome Online Games?

2.Do They Have a decent single player mode?

3. Do they support Co-op of any kind

So far Ive played resistence and motorstorm at my freinds house most of my freinds have a 360 or wii so i havent got to play the ps3 much yet resistence was compelty amazing motorstrom was good but not my thing

And actually the best one is $500 if you buy it soon. The 60gb unit is superior as far as hardware goes to the 80gb unit that is coming and the 20gb unit is pretty much long gone. So now is the time to buy at the $500 price point because come the end of this month it'll be the 80gb for $600 again without hardware PS2/PS1 compatability.

:)

Now is the time to buy a PS3 because the 60 gig version is at a closeout price and still has the EE chip from the PS/PS2 console. Once thse are gone there will be no more of the EE chip sets used in the console. And as far as HDD space you can always change the 60 gig drive out for one much larger without worrying about voiding the warrenty. There is actually instructions in the owners manual on just how this is done.

Actually the $500 is just as good as the $600 unless you just want Motorstorm. Just FYI.

And you really shouldn't be on the fence about getting it... it's a really awesome system. I think in 10 yrs we'll look back and say it's one of the greatest systems to have come out b/cSony really took it to the next level with this one.

I'm so glad i bought the 60GB before it runs out. I care alot about the EE chip, because i still play a crap load of ps/ps2 games.

If playing ps2 games is a consideration for you, then listen to DataDream and Jimm895 and get one now. I got one last week for this reason. I wouldn't wait too long though because they are flying off the shelves. I had to go to several places before I found one in stock. There are other people on this site saying the ps3 is sold out in their area as well.

I bought mine and am happy, plus free BD and remote from Amazon + rebate offer. My big game is Rainbow 6:Vegas. Single player, online, co-op(also online).

What if I said that U could get a 20 Gb PS3 for only $450? Would that change your mind? How about the 60Gb PS3 for $500?

Now what do you think?

The 20 GB version has no memory card readers and no Wi-Fi. It sucks goat cheese.

1) Resistence, Warhawk is coming next month, Socom: Confrontation in November (Both warhawk and Socom are great online only games), and Rainbow six if you don't have it on 360.

2) Resistence definetely has a great single play, dunno know about rainbow six.

3) Yes warhawk and socom will if i'm not mistaken, again not sure about rainbow six.

To throw my two cents in, I would purchase the item now. For $500 you are getting a great system. I will not repeat all the functions and abilities the system has, but I purchase the system before the price break. Even though I spent a $100 over what everyone is paying, I still see the value. The game issue will hopefully be remedied soon, as I cannot take a delay or subpar release. I didn't care for Resistance, but Killzone looks to be great, so does Warhawk. The exclusives are looking great and the fact that it is a Blu-Ray player doesn't hurt. Getting the EE was important to be because there are a lot of back catalog games that I haven't played since I bought a 360 shortly after launch. If you didn't buy the hd-dvd add on for the 360 like me you saved yourself some money. It looks like Bluray may win the format war.

Buy the 60GB version now for $500. You can upgrade the HDD to 160GB for under $150 and you get the full hardware backwards compatability (versus the limited software emulation in the 80GB version, similar to XBox 360's backwards compatability). So for $50 more than the 80GB version, you get twice the HDD space and better hardware.

Also, buy before 9/30 and you get a mail-in for 5 free Blu-ray movies. They are from a decent selection including Underworld Evolution, Transporter 2, Corpse Bride, etc. I bought mine this week using a Fry's ad that threw in Casino Royale and Hellboy Blu-ray DVD instantly for free for 7 total free HD movies! (No Fry's in my area, but Best Buy matched the ad!)
