I need a little help choosing a decent on-line game for my ps3 to get started with on-line gaming. I've had my ps3 since launch and although I've always had Internet connection and games with on-line multilayer modes I've failed to get into on-line gaming (mainly because I'm rather rubbish). Any thoughts or suggestions on which games are best for beginners or even best in general will be very much appreciated. The games can also either be current games that have a thriving on-line community already such as modern warfare 2 or games scheduled for release soonlike battlefield bad company.

Thanks in advance for replies, and I hope this post also gets gamers talking about topics such as beginners in on-line games, the best on-line games etc.

You might love or hate MW2, but if you end up loving it, you'll play for months

I would check out both MW2 and BFBC2 and see which one you like., neither are really for beginners but both have good aspects. The good thing about BFBC2 is that you can get the demo on the 4th and work out your noobism in the demo so you can start your stats fresh when the game comes out next month.

well games i think are pretty noob friendly would be killzone 2, maybe uncharted 2.. but some people can get really annoying in that game.. the grenade throwing is like halo's. and mw2. mw2 u can get used to pretty easy and there are things like heartbeat sensor and stopping power which make it really easy for new people..

MAG i hear is pretty cool too :)

but really i would have to say mw2, I think it has the largest fanbase out of any ps3 games out right now too, i know thta's how it is with the xbox version

Bad Company 2 is going to be 100 times better than Modern Warfare 2...

But Modern Warfare 2 is going to be 100 times more noob friendly than Bad Company 2...

I'm not going to suggest a game. But I would suggest you not take it too seriously.

I feel it's a growing problem with "playing online" and a bunch of crybabies really does ruin the fun.

I agree with the others, MW2. I've never been good at Call of Duty games, and indeed, I sucked at Modern Warfare 2, as well. But you learn pretty quickly, and they have a lot of perks that help you, and the leveling-up and unlocking items part is pretty addicting.

You can customize your sets more and more as you level up, so you can pretty much get what works best for you, with guns and abilities and such. Either way you'll probably find it fun, that's the important part. And yes, I have the PS3 version, and it never takes more than a few seconds to find a game any time of day, which is important. Give it a try, that's my opinion. It's my first online console game, as well.

Modern warfare 2 should be good due to how quickly you can start getting rewarded and unlocking things. Should be easy to still get a few kills from the start and have fun.

Try Modern Warfare 2 but not BF:BC2. You'll probably die several hundred times over before you'll get a single kill, the learning curve is really steep.

Get MW2. Most noob friendly game out there IMO. Also, to those who say Battlefield is not noobish. If you get in a tank with a support gunner and an engineer behind you. You could get 30+ kills
