Online Play??

Hi,

My Xbox 360 just died on me the other day, for the third time. When it gets back from the repair centre, I plan to sell it because, despite it being an undeniably great console, it feels like i'm playing a timebomb that could crash anytime. Considering the PS2, in my opinion, was (and to a certain extent, still is) the greatest console ever made, I think i'm due a Playstation 3 :)

My only problem is online play. Yes, its free i've heard, but most of my mates have Xbox 360s. Is it possible to play, with PS3 games such as, say, Call Of Duty 4, with these guys online who are playing on the Xbox 360?

Unfortunate that I cant play online with my Xbox pals, but meh, not such a big issue, i'm a student and the internet connection in the halls of residence is barely fast enough to load basic HTML websites, nevermind full blown 3D games. Anyway, been looking at some of the reviews of the PS3 and it does look amazing. Think i'll go ahead with the purchase tomorrow. Cheers guys!
