essentially, you still can't play your "copying prohibited" content if you have multiple ps3s in your home like i do. maybe im just thinking about this the wrong way but when you do copy locked content to the cloud, you can only redownload that content once every 24 hours. however, when youre continuing on that save file and you get further than what you uploaded to the cloud, you have to re-save your file to the cloud and by doing so, the 24 hour wait time resets... so essentially... you can never play locked content on other ps3s using the cloud save feature method. has anyone else figured a way around this? or does sony just need to add an auto upload feature (like once every minute) without the 24 hour wait period resetting itself? (if thats possible)

You can, you just can't be constantly grabbing it from different PS3s in the same day, which could be a problem for some. You just need to wait 24 hours after you upload it to pull it down to your other PS3. Kinda annoying I guess.

It seems like a limitation put in place to stop exploitation of the system.. It probably had something to do with cheating save files.. PSN Cloud is great, its the feature that finally got me to sign up for PS Plus, glad i still got in with the 1 year + 3 months deal.

oh i do understand why the 24 hour lock was put into place but as far as having multiple ps3s in one home the lock time resets everytime you upload a copy prohibited save file to the cloud. what im hoping for is for some way to not reset the lock time as well as keeping it to where you can only download it once per day

The time limit seems like an unneccessary obstruction. Surely the whole idea of the cloud storage is that you can access it from any PS3 at any time, do what you want to do, then continue that on another PS3 when you want to. The only reason I found out about this was I went to sign in on PSN, it prompted me to update (again), said the main feature was the ability to change the auto-power off time on my controller, and then has taken an age to download the patch. A patch to change an auto-off setting is not a big update, and there is nothing in the notes you can view on your PS3 when it goes to download that prompts you it will be an 185MB update with cloud support. And since I don't have PS+ and have no intention of getting it, I am being forced to download a large patch that isn't going to add any useful extra features. I suspect in reality this is more security updates to address the headline grabbing stories of the past few months, and a small amount of content to enable the couple new menu options.

Considering I had no other way of backing up these locked save files, 24 hours seems like a small price to pay in order to keep them safe.

same here but i have multiple ps3's in my home and i like to play on my bro's tv since he has a better tv than i do and it gets annoying having to unplug/hook my ps3 and switch his with mine just to play. with the cloud saving feature, i can do this IF the 24 lock period didnt reset everytime i upload a locked save file when i progress further in dragon age: origins, i save onto my hdd and then upload to the cloud, which then resets the lock period. if uploading was automatic and didnt reset the lock period while retaining the 'download only once per day' then this would be amazing

i have multiple ps3s too and I just don't understand that if it is so urgent to play a game with a locked save on another PS3 why not just move the PS3? I understand the convience part but If I really really wanted to play that specific game that sounds like a better option rather than waiting for 24 hours

No doubt. I already lost 2 years worth of game saves once. Finally having the assurance that it will never happen again is totally worth it.

You don't need cloud you just need to back up your profile and you can play "copying prohibited" on any Ps3

No, I did not know this seeing as how most games won't actually allow you to do so.

So I can't start a black ops campaign in my bedroom, play it in my bathroom, and finish it in my kitchen? Dammit.

Back up your profile? I've honestly never heard of this. I'll have to check into it. As far as just copying save files to a USB, however, there are many games like Demon's Souls that I put a lot of time in that would not allow you to copy the save file. I had some of my older stuff backed up on an external HDD, but I still ended up losing the stuff I spent the most time on. :(
