Due to just buying an 80GB ps3 with NGS and Motorstorm, I'm only able to buy one game on the 28th (a store's having a 10% off all video games thing that day). What do you guys think that I should get? I was considering Folklore and R&C, although the soon-to-arrive releases of CoD4, AC, and Mass Effect are tempting as well. Any suggestions?
Assassin's Creed, if you're willing to wait. It's gonna be the true game that's gonna define next-gen. But if you wanna pick one up right away try R&C, or Guitar Hero 3which is released on the 28th if you're into music.

Rainbow six, Graw, Resistence and no Ratchet and Clank is way better than folklore but comparing them isn't a very good idea because they are from different genres.
i understand the genre difference, but i was wondering which was more worthwhile to have in a game collection (i.e. heavenly sword is good but worthless to buy since it can easily be beat in a rental).
Guitar Hero 3 releases on the 28th. But if your not into that stuff then look into Assasins Creed for an action-adventure or Call of Duty 4 for an FPS.
My vote for you goes to Guitar Hero 3 which I simply cannot wait for. one more day, is gonna be the most aniticipating as I stand online at midnight. If u dont want it, which it could sell out, who knows... go get warhawk
Between R & C and Folklore, I had to go with Folklore. R & C is a definite must-buy eventually, though like Heavenly Sword you can probably beat it in one or two solid sittings. It has tons of replay value, but personally I am very OCD about games sometimes, so RPG's (especially those with huge lists of stuff to do, like collecting every monster a la Pokemon) are a perfect fit for me. I stopped playing Halo 3 recently and I just started getting into Folklore. It's gorgeous, great fun, tons of side quests, etc. So if you're looking for a gorgeous game with more replay value than an action/platformer I'd go with Folklore.
You can't go wrong with any of those choices....but it may be hard to play Mass Effect on your PS3 :P (unless you have both) but otherwise I'd go with either Assassin's Creed, COD4 or R&C...

RATCHET AND CLANK hands down dude. this game is amazing. background (not character) graphics can be compared to heavenly swords, the gameplay is off the hook. and they use the six axis motion sensing more than any game out there and surprisingly it works great. funny antics from captain qArk will keep you laughing the whole way through (cough cough zombie ninja panda bears...) i beat this title within 3 days but only becuase i couldnt put the controller down! it was so addicting. plus after you beat it you can beat it again on challenge mode which is super hard. when i heard about this i thought i wouldnt want to play it again after the run through but surprisingly i did. you're looking at around 20 hours of gamelplay if you go through it once and on challenge mode. my personal score is a 9.4. bravo insomniac. (caution im enthusiastic because im a r&c fan. ive been playing their games since the original. dont take TOO seriously. but it is a great game. )
My next purchase will be Call of Duty 4, followed by Assassin's Creed. I was thinking of passing on COD4 but we're finally getting high-speed internet so I'll finally be able to get slaughtered online. If you like hockey games, NHL 08 is a good game to pick up. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the games you mentioned.
i think i'm gonna go with folklore for now, and r+c/ac later, since i've played the cod4 360 beta too much and am kinda bored of it, and have no clue about why resistance is so awesome. (played the demo and it felt a lot like a better-made gears... i hated gears)
