No rumble, if I see that the PS3 version got a 8.5 or lower im going to really be _____ off... Hopefully they would not deduct that many points just because of that lack of rumble. But, the PS3 version is said to be having faster loading times and sharper textures, plus knights of the nine added into it. So who knows, maybe those features will counter-out the lack of rumble to make it get a decent score.

Thoughts?

I don't think rumble was used THAT well in Oblivion though it is nice having the feedback on the melee combat and such.

I think it should even be a timy bit higher, added content and better graphics.  I don't even have a PS3 but that's how I see it.

one word for you MOUSE AND KEYBOARD VS CONTROLLER....wins mouse and keyboard.... and maybe they will lower the score because it will be a copy of a game that came out  a year ago.

I think it deserves a 9. It's still the same game, that alone deserves a huge score. But because it's been out for almost a year it will bring the score down quite a bit. My guess: Gameplay - 8 Graphics - 8 Sound - 10 Value - 8 Tilt - 9 Score - 8.6

Why would rumble come into a large account?

I don't expect the PS3 version to score higher than the previous versions, however, with the numerous enhancements and fixes, I don't se it scoring significantly lower, either.

A game thats been out for so long and ported over is not going to score the same or more.

-My guess is it will AAA and be 9.0

-The review will state its not as amazing technically as when it first came out.

-People will flood the boards again with how GS loves to hate PS3.

I wish i had never played Oblivon at all and now got to experiance it on PS3 with all the extra content.

If the game was released for PS3 without the extra content then it would have scored a high 8 but with the extra content and fixes plus the fact its been out a year already i think 9.0 is more likely.

I owned Oblivion for the PC and my keyboard and mouse most definitely did not have rumble. Unless the framerates are worse or they deduct for the age of the game, I would imagine it would score at least as high as when it was released for the 360.

I totally agree, i think it be great if they get som1 to review the game who never played the 360/PC versions and judge it as it is. But who at gamespot hasnt played Oblivion and could give a fair review? no doubt most have spent hours on the game and will more than likely be slightly numb to it on the PS3.

Fact is it is a year old now and alot of ppl like me have played it to death and can see all the flaws in the game. Its no longer fresh.

Huh? ummm the PC version doesn't have rumble and it got a 9.3. It will get a lower score because of time. I guarantee you that. It should still be 9.0+ but it definitely won't have the same score as oblivion on the 360. At the least it should have the same 9.3 score as the PC version or a 9.1.

This has always confused me. The PC version has a direct patching, free mods, editor tools, and a better frame rate. I believe they lowered the score based on the quality of machine you needed to own in order to experience the game at high quality. Unfortunately, that should not be one of the standards of rating a PC title.

Well how well do you think a straight port of the top 5 greatest games of all times would score? They would NOT score as well as they did with their original street date. Time plays a significant role in how a game is perceived. I understand that my example is a bit extreme, but you get my point. Mario 64, arguably one of the top 5 games ever, would not score all that hot if released today. It would get maybe a 5 MAYBE a 6. The graphics are stunning in oblivion, but Gears, the new benchmark in graphics, has came out since, and Oblivion is no longer as stunning as it once was.

The standards have gone way, way up since Oblivion was released, especially graphically. Oblivion's only graphical good point is its draw distance and environments, but the characters SUCK. It should get high-AA, not AAA. Hell, IMO the original should've gotten 9.0 and not 9.3.

It should at least get a 9.0. Its still a great game, and no, time shouldn't effect how good it will be. A good game is still a good game, no matter how long its been. And if it doesn't, I'll protest, WHOS WITH ME!?

Okay, maybe time does have a role. But it should still get atleast an 8.8, but hopefully at least a 9. Even if It doesn't, I'll give it a 9.3.

To me it's inexcusable to give the PS3 version of Oblivion a lower score than the 360 version if both versions are equal. The fact that the PS3 version is coming out so much later after the 360 version's release shouldn't be reason to lessen the score. In fact things like updated graphics, and new content should probably increase the score. The whole idea of lowering a score for a game, just because that same games been available for another system is just stupid, and makes no sense at all.

It's not because that same game is available for another system., it's because it's being judged against the standard for its CURRENT system. Although GS is lazy. They just copy-paste reviews. :|

Time is the only thing that can hurt the score of the PS3 version. A year old game needs to be vastly improved to score higher, especially with these reviewers.

What bothers me is how they will probly lower the score because of the later release...even though it has more content, looks, and plays better. Also - you know when you are at a game's main page and it says "Also on: Xbox 360" it will have the "best" icon beside the one with the highest score...well No, the 360 version cannot possibly be better because the ps3 version has all the enhancements over the 360 version. So if Oblivion gets higher on 360 because it being out earlier than that is just BS because because it is not the better game.

Err, there's no online in any of the Oblivion game versions. :|

since they can rate VF5 lower for having no online feature even thought the producer has given good reason for that, then why should they leave Oblivion alone, right?

Well, do VF5's competitors in the fighting genre have online?

is online a MUST-have in VF5? but there's a good reason for no including online feature in it: Counter System

What's that? And if online is a standard in fighting games, and VF5 lacks it, then yes, it's a must-have feature that VF5 lacks. Just like Motorstorm suffered for having no splitscreen (I think?).

No they don't. Only ones I can think of are DOA4 and MK, both of which have spotty lag issues. The big three fighting games are soul calibur, tekken, and VF, none of which have any online to speak of.
