Hi,
I was just wondering. Turning the ps3 on is quite simply 'touching' the power button at the front.
How does it turn it OFF? I've noticed that if I just 'touch' it, it does not turn OFF. Do I need to change the settings?
I've also heard I have to hold down the power button for a few seconds before it turns OFF? Is that the same as force shutdown?
Thanks,
ZIMdoom
If you hold down the button, it should shut down. HOwever, the easiest way is to hold down the PS button in the middle of the controller. THis will open a menu with options including Quit Game, Shut off Console, Turn off COntroller, etc. Chose to shut off the console from there.
HOWEVER, this technically doesn't turn it off, just shuts it down and puts it in standby. This is a good mode to have if you play a lot because then you just have to grab your controller and hit that middle button to turn the console back on. To completely turn the console off, you have to go into the standby mode then use the on/off switch at the back of the console. Do this if you don't plan on playing for a little while because I hear going into standby uses almost as much power as when the machine is on and running.
Pretty much this. I don't have anything to add to it really. Just felt like posting :P
