Just bought a PS3 wireless keypad, in lieu of an actual Bluetooth keyboard today. I would never pay $50 for one, but I was able to get it for $37.50 (25% off) so I picked it up. Haven't opened it yet because there's no returning it after I do, but I just wanted to know what owners of the keypad thought of it before opening it.

I looked at some AMAZON.com reviews and most of them are positive (3.5-4 star reviews), but I'd appreciate some feedback from Gamespot users since we're a little more hardcore than the average gamer.

I think the biggest flaw is that it is not back lit like the 360 one:( Other than that, it's a good keypad. Not sure if it's worth the full price though.

I didn't care for the way the design was executed in general, but the way that it fits on the PS3 controller is particularly awful. The keys are very small, but I acknowledge that this isn't an easy problem to rectify given the situation.

All in all, for how much this thing costs, you could get a pretty awesome keyboard, with backlighting and such. You could even go bananas and use that money towards a Bluetooth keyboard.

I'm really torn on whether to keep this or not...

The small keys don't bother me too much because I have a Treo and I'm used to typing on small keys. I'm device is actually A LOT thinner than I had originally presumed it would be. The lack of a back light sucks, but rarely do I ever play in complete darkness.

I like the fact that I don't have to attach it to my controller to use it. I checked priced everywhere online and I got the best price possible $40 with tax.

I agree that a wireless keyboard would be a better value, but I just don't like the idea of having a full sized keyboard laying around...seems rather stupid to me actually. Any other opinions?

I have one and never use it normally i play PS3 in a darkish room and the keypad does not light up at all so its useless for me and the keys are also to small and it does block the triggers at the back i find.

I love mine. I have big fingers and I can type pretty easily since I have a Moto Q so I am also used to typing on small keys. My only issue is no backlighting but your not supposed to play with the lights off anyway right?? lol I would say keep it.

Here's the completely obvious solution for anyone wanting a form of a keyboard/keypad for PS3.

1 - Go to your local Best Buy or Fry's Electronics

2 - Buy a cheap ass $8 USB Keyboard

3 - Plug it in your PS3

WHA! LA!

Incredible!

No overpriced $50 keyboards or **** ugly inconvenient keypads.

Amazing!
