Opinions on Uncharted 2 beta demo

I downloaded the beta demo for Uncharted 2 - I had to leave it on all night to download - took that long.

I haven't had chance to play it yet and probs won't get chance till tomorrow night due to work commitments and the missus wanting to watch tv!

So what are people's impressions of it who have played the beat?

And what modes are available - are there single player levels available? And what type of multiplayer modes are available?

I know I'll find this all out tomorrow - but just wondered on opinions...cos I know I'll be able to check these forums when I get some time to play the game!

P.S. Poo being an adult gamer with too much stuff on to allow playing time for gaming...I wanna be a kid again!

i havent played it, but i was wondering could u tell me how big it was to download coz it took u all night, must be some serious GB

Graphics are good the demo is fun. Dont think it looks better then the first one but that one looked good but in an interview they said they are using all the ps3 power and i just dont see it that different. the gameplay is fun tho

1.2gb not bad, i thought it would be bigger, ur internet connection must of been bad that night

It's pretty sweet, a decent multiplayer but I'm looking forward for the single player more.

I have Virgin 10mb cable broadband - but my connection to the ps3 is wireless so don't know if that made a difference - after 3 hours it had done 15% - I know others had had a slow download - usually I get fast speeds so I thought it might be loads downloading it at the same time.

Sometimes downloads on me ps3 take a while to get to 50% but then after that they fly - so it might have done that whilst I was asleep!

Plus I started downloading at 7pm and was in bed by 11pm...if I download a torrent film file it usually takes between 1-2 hours on me 10mb cable broadband!

I downloaded the beta in bought 30 mins... i think its incredible. prolly the most fun ive had playing online in a long time. its alot for just a beta too. the graphics are great to me better then the first and this is online play so the single player will be great looking.

Cinema mode needs a rewind feature. That's about all I can think of right now.

I think I must have started downloading it when everyone else did - probs finished 2 mins after I went to bed knowing my luck!

Just wish I could play it tonight - but I'll be in the doghouse with the missus if I suggest it!

Role on tomorrow night!

I got it yesterday, and it was really fun. The graphics are amazing, a step up from Uncharted 1 i would say, and i didn't get any lag which is always good :D

It's not bad. It can take a few attempts to log in sometimes with all the people trying to get in. Once you get in, there can be a 2-4 minute wait for the game to match you up as it searches for a group of players. There wasn't any noticable lag, and the game feels pretty responsive. The speed itself is a bit more like MGO when compared to KZ2 if you have played those games online. When you get into the lobby, the level you play in is "voted" on unless you create a level for you and your friends to play in I believe. The weapons have all the basics covered, and the grenades are still the same as you remember from Uncharted. While I think the stages could be just a tad on the larger side, they do offer plenty of cover and force you to run into one another as to avoid someone just camping in a particular spot for awhile. Of course I've only seen two stages so far, an Ice stage, and another where there are a bunch of ruined buildings. Overall, it's not bad.

Yea, I hate accidentally skipping a scene when I fast forward.

Played it for 2-3 hours last night. I thought it was really fun, loved the verticality of the environments and some of the interactivity (helicopter and tank you must dodge in specific levels) but I wish Naughty Dog had been a little riskier. I like what Insomniac did with Resistance 2 MP but Uncharted 2 is offering mostly the same modes we've already played before, albeit with different pacing and characters / animation. I would recommend it though, and will definitely purchase next month.

You have to buy them with the money you earn in game. At the bottom of the screen it'll say "Store" and you have to go there to get them. It took me a while to figure it out.
