Best I can tell you is to take it apart and clean it. The warrenty is already void with that happening to it anyways.

Well you shouldn't just dig in and disassemble your controller. I suggest you use a toothpick and wet paper towel and try to clean in between the buttons. If that doesn't help then yah you should disassemble so you can clean every nook and cranny : P

Funny how people are scared to take things apart. I have yet to take a PS3 controller apart (because I haven't had a reason to yet), but I have taken PS2 controllers apart along with taken my PS1 and PS2 apart. To each their own I guess, but I anot scared to open and clean my game systems and controllers.

i cleaned one of mine, then only advice i give you is go slow, and remeber which screw goes where. a can of compressed air works best, but cutips work well also.

Having taken apart both PS2 and PS3 controllers, the PS3's are more tricky in a significant way. There is a small detachable piece right between R1/R2 and L1/L2 and it's a ***** sometimes to keep it in place while getting the L/R2 buttons put back in. Howeve, it is VERY doable, and I would recommend it if you have to get the sticky stuff out. There are instructions for taking the controller apart in the PS3 original manual, as it is required in order to replace the battery. READ it. There's a special "pressure point" you have to press in on to get the two main halves separated, you can't just use brute force to rip it apart. Good luck, it's not that bad, just frustrating at points.

took my sixaxis apart to clean it, and broke off the reset button. I used brute force to get it apart, as reading is for jerks. Still works, so no biggie really. BTW, those placstic plates in between the shoulder buttons are the biggest pains in the ass!

Wouldn't the vodka in the OJ sterilize the sixaxis?

Oh, the old Orange Juice, eh? The amounts of times I've spilt that... from Tamagotchis to my PSP, it must be the most spilt thing in my life.

No big deal really - a few loose screws and it will come apart, ready for a good clean.

Thanks everyone for the help, ive decided just to leave it for a while and use it as frequently as possible so that it will work its way off after a week or two and if it doesnt ill take it apart.
