(spoilers on MGS4 and previous ones to follow warrenting my sympathy for Otacon)
[spoiler] First he gets attacked by a Cyborg Ninja, then he loses Wolf (whom he loved), then he loses his sister, then loses Naomi (whom he also loved), then he's pretty much left in MGS4's ending to die alone. [/spoiler]
poor guy...he's metal gear's sad sack who you cant help but love, its like having scrubs with no ted, 30 rock with no kenneth, or even the office with no pam.... they dont get the respect they deserve but their intentions are always the best... i for one like otacon.
Otacon is a cool guy. He has the brains and a big heart although a bit insecure. The actor who did the voice for Otacon did a great job overall, but when he started crying, he really screwed up! lol... He could have at least sounded more believable. :P
i also like ocacon but he doesnt half whinge, he was complaining and crying about naomi, and poor snake is wondering what day of the week would be his death

I agree. I felt like they went a bit overboard with Otacon crying over Naomi, not to mention the whining. I could have used a lot less of it. But I guess we dont need two Snakes, now do we? Someone has to be the whiny, crying man.

Yeah, hes believable till the crying starts then its just like your watching some educational movie with bad acting.
I think Otacon is awesome. Comon, the MG Mk 2 was a pretty badass invention, and the character himself is pretty interesting. But just like everyone is saying, hes that nerdy goof that everyone loves.
