help, Ive been playing prototype and i get overheated or something and the game freezes. Ive been searching for an inter-cooler and cant find one. Can you guys help me as to why my s3 keeps on overheating or something? I lay resonance or fate and it works fine before i played prototype. Its happens every 20-30 mins I think? it started on friday.

sorry but my banks been acting up. they had to verify some stuff on my bank card. I checked some stores like bestbuy and gamestop and walmart and they either were sold out or only had the slim version. I'll have to check different locations ( there are 4-5 gamestops locally)

i havnt had to rely on a inter cooler, what i recomend is clean out your vents. i have 60 gig and it useto heat up like a 50 year old woman going through menapause, i found that a can of compressed air did the job pretty well when you attach the nozel to it and spray it into the bottom bart of the bent when the ps3 is upright and alot of dust will fly out. now there is another way cos if compressed air is done wrong it could mess it up, some people have used vaccumes on the vents to get out the dust. the reason prototype ovreheats it and not resonance of fate is cos more processing power is used for some games during gameplay kinda like if you play sims on a quad core pc with 6 gig ram and then playing something like crisis which one will cause the pc to heat up more?

you better not play with it at all now, because it may break up,I think your problem is the thermal compound ,one of the people have put a topic about that here is the link of it

first you need to be sure its over heating. is the fans kicking on extra loud? are you getting a msg saying its over heating? If it is a over heating problem then most likely as the above posetr says its that the thermal paste has dried out so bad its not conducting heat and or the heat synch has become unseated. iv read things posted by people who have taken apart the ps3 that sony use's some pretty crapy compound. But keep in mind it may not be a over heat issue. you may have a currupted HDD or failing hdd or any number of other problems. you might want to try doing a full reformat and see if that fixs the problem. its a pain to reinstall all your games ect but it may keep you from spending money on a new ps3. And again this is just what iv read a few times but a lot of folks who have had over heating issues that replaced the thermal compound found that there system worked better for a short time but completly died after a while. just what iv read.

Is it an older model? If so then its about this time when they are starting to act up and die out on people. My Fat one died out on me in December, My advice is if you have the money get a slim, but only when your fat one dies out on you.

I have a 60 gig launch model last week i was playing and the screen went blackfor about 30 seconds so when it came back on I shut it down. I plan on backing up all my info when I try it again in case it breaks.
