so, i have a ps3,psp, wii and ds and am having an issue w/ remote connect. the remote connect feature, i believe, needs a secure connection like WPA (if i'm not mistaken, as this is what i've seen in the setup). however, the ds doesn't allow for this...only WEP. i believe the wii will allow both. anyway, can someone tell me what i need to do in order to have all of these devices able to use wi-fi, while still being able to use remote connect. i've tried setting it up multiple times and always get an error.

You can only remote connect to the PS3 using a PSP (thus the name PlayStation?) and i assume Wii can only connect to the DS.  Also (although i am not sure) I think in order to connect the PSP to PS3 to set up a remote connection you have to plug it in to the Ps3 using a USB cable.  again its been a while since i did this and even longer since I've used it (it is really bad on the PS's)  oh yea sory for all the lowercase i's i am used to Word capitalizing them for me :) hope this helped!

Remote Connect is only for the PS3 & PSP.   I don't know what the Wii & DS have but they don't have Remote Connect where you can control the PS3 via WIFI using the PSP.

Setting up Remote Connect requires a one time USB cable connection to the PS3.

Select Remote Play from the PS3 XMB and it will guide you through it.

ok, i must have not been very clear in my original post. i know that remote connect is only for ps3 and psp. but, i also have a ds that i like to take online. my issue is the following. if i set my router up to work with a WEP connection, which is all you can do w/ the ds (or use a completely unsecure/open connection), then i can't set up remote connect, since it asks me to use a WPA type secure connection. is there a way to get the remote connect function to work with a WEP connection??? i've tried plugging my psp into the ps3 via the usb attachment, and it walks me through everything, but it always asks me to select one of those WPA codes. if i'm not making sense, sorry. but this is the best way i can think of explaining it. do any of you who are replying to this thread have a ps3, psp and ds? if so, how are you setting remote connection up? i just don't want to use a WPA code/connection and then lose my ability to take my ds online, since you can only use WEP with that.

its been a ling time since i set mine up but if i remember, your ps3 is gonna act as its own wifi feed going to the psp (eventhough your home router is feeding the ps3), seperate from the way your wireless home router is set up (encryption wise).  Set your home router to WEP (so your ds can connect), then make a different connection on your ps3/psp settings using whatever encryptions it will let you.  Sry if that sounds confusing, like i said, its been a while since i set mine up i just remember having to treat my ps3 as if it were a different standalone wifi from the router for my psp to connect.

ok, i'll try that. i thought i did that before, but i know that i had changed my actual router settings too. it makes complete sense what you're saying. oh, and thanks a lot for replying and trying to help me out.
