PAL system?

I was just wondering if PS3 games are limited to the PAL system? Ive searched for it on the internet, but all i can find is future plans for the PS3 not having the PAL system in place (and they are all threads from '06)

i believe yes you can cuz one of my friends got the pal ps3 and all of his games r american or region 2 i think thats what its called anyway ya the ps3 is just like psp u can play all the games dont worry

PS3 games arnt region locked, never have been, i dont know what you searched for because this question has been asked billions of times and anwsered just as many.

The only exception to this is StrangleHold.

If you have a HD TV you have no problems but if you have an old SD TV, there are problems playing certain PAL games on NTSC systems because Sony are braindead and were too stupid to make the system output both formats. I know there was alot of Americans whinging about the PAL Folklore demo not working on NTSC systems on SD TVs, I have no clue about any other games. I have a Japanese system and only buy Japanese games but I do rent PAL sometimes. I have a HDTV so they always work fine.
