Yep, it's cool to be into such a quirky, fun game... why wouldn't it be? Just play it with headphones because people WILL stare at you as you bop along to the music. One of the stand-out titles of this generation in terms of originality and presentation. No question.
Patapon is great, super-original, charming, and challenging enough to be able to deny that it's a "kid's game". Japan Studio comes up with all the most unique games, echochrome, LocoRoco, Patapon, Ape Escape, and a few more obscure titles. To pass one of their games off as childish is simply distasteful, and it makes you miss out on a fine game.
I certainly lost my intrest when the game forced me to watch tutorial videos again every time i messed up. Couldn't pass even the second screen in the game (Patapon 2)

The first video is a little tricky, you just need to concentrate and the the rhythm. Tap your foot or something. :P
Everybody loves it except for me. I played the demo for the first one and I just wasn't into it. I'm sure it's a great game and all, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
