I've played patapon, and i've tried the locoroco demo. (been meaning to pick that game up somewhere) I'm gonna have to go with Locoroco here. I just can never time the beats right on patapon.
I can see why you would be tempted to compare these two games, since they both have a cutesy, animated appearance, but the two are so disimilar and both are such very good games that I don't think I could recommend one over the other.
Having finished loco roco and nearly finished patapon, id have to say patapon. Both games are amazing but loco roco is a little bit short and if you are after a challenge then that isnt the game for you. Patapon is quite hard but not impossible hard, if i get stuck on games i usually give up straight away but i keep coming back to patapon determined not to be beaten and i love games which do that to me. I think both these games are essential!
I love both. Loco roco got me to buy the psp 1000 and patapon is what got me into being addicted to the psp. I think patapon is better but get loco roco too when you can.

I don't know. That's a real tough one for me. I'm a big Loco Roco fan, and Pataton is an outstanding game too. I think both games are tied in my opinion. Regardless, they're by far some of the best handheld games I've ever played.
