Pause or cancel downloads?

I just put a demo on download. its eating all my bandwidth and i want to pause it. can i do that ? or how can i cancel downloading the demo?  when its downloading it slows down net browsing etc. please help.

just shut off your ps3 to pause downloads! lol Then when u turn it back on it will resume! Hopefully sony will allow u to pause downloads in future firmwares

do you have firmware 1.6 if your on-line it doesn't download it only downloads if your not doing anything online ie like playing a game or watching a movie etc if you go on line it pauses the download.. if you do have 1.6 then i don't see how your having the problem other than something wrong at your end.

hey there
well first of all,wheres ur ps3 from,like which region???1 2 or 3?
mines region 1. well then make sure that u have the latest version available for your ps3,mine is version 1.60.
and with it,comes this part,in the second to last part of the main menu,then go down the list,and there should be something called "Download Management" and there you can choose to cancel the download.Im not sure how you pause it though ,I just take out the Ethernet cable,or disconnect from the access point(for wireless internet).and then the connection goes away,and that basically pauses the download,and i think that it should pause it most of the time,it doesnt get cancelled though(for sure)
and by the way..how fast is ur connection??? cuz when i go on the browser while downloading demos,it doesnt get slow.
oh yeah,and if u try to play a game online,it pauses the download.
When i play resistance fall of man online,while somethings downloading,it always pauses the download,and the connection to the game is fast
