Can you pause a download when downloading something from the PS store like say you are half way through downloading a demo then you relise you have to go out can you pause it turn off the PS3 and then resume it later.

If you shut down your PS3, you automatically pause all downloads. And when you later on puts it back on, it will resume.

Yes you can pause downloads however i would just reccomend that you turn off your PS3 as it will automatically pause your download then resume it when your it turned on again ...

Now if SONY could let us make PS3 turn itself off when it completed downloading content ...

and if i'm not mistaken, there is a pause button in the download management, if you would like to use it :)
but no need to if your going to shut it off.
