Have anyone received a message through one of your friends saying that Sony is gonna start charging for online services (PSN) starting 12/1/2009? I know it actually looks like a chain mail because it says something about needing 50,000 replies to the message for Sony to reconsider.
I have recieved that message from a friend. It threw me off guard so much til I didn't notice that it said 2009 and not 2010. I thought that it had said 10 but when I went back and checked it, it said 09 so it's fake.

You'll find topics like this one all over the Sony PS3 boards. It's a chain letter that has been hitting many players. I have yet to see one, but there's no truth to it........or is there??? (cue dramatic music) dun, dun duuunnnnnnnnn!

I got that CHAIN MAIL from a few friends. Do people HONESTLY fall for this stuff? Sony would never contact us through PSN... only e-mail. Not only that, but they won't demand just "a protest" to not do something.
Like everyone says, its chain mail spam. One of the marketing bits of PSN is that its free and SONY for the time being have no intention of changing it. Its no different than the emails you get from mates saying "Send this onto 10 friends in the next 10 mins and something will happen". Anyone been getting messages in Spanish with attachments from randoms at all?
I doubt Sony would ever market or release any information in this manner. I wish people could wake up and stop these messages as soon as they get them. People must know there fake and just panic anyway. Oh no don't want to miss the MW2 beta that IW said would not take place. or pay for PSN which it's "selling point" is that it's free.
Theres only one way to fix this problem and i know it.. dont know how to put it out but here it is lol, take away the copy and paste ability from messages. if that disapears people wont be able to copy and send message to more ppl. i think lolo
If they do charge for PSN (I pray to God that they don't) I have lost all hope in Sony, Really, They're "Copying" The 360 in my opinion. I'm not sure if anyone else get's where I'm coming from. This will be a major mistake for Sony. >:l
Also. another mistake they've made in the past, was allowing Microsoft to share the GTA name :( I want the DLC's too >:l
Do people seriously believe this and make a thread about it? C'mon people, snap out of it. If it was real, news that big will travel on the internet, not PSN itself through personal messages. :(
It's really just stupid. I started deleting my friends if they send me spam. If I want spam I will go check my email or something. I bought my PS3 to play games not this
