PC graphics better than the PS4. Yeah, we know that.

So the PS4 just got announced and I couldn't be more thrilled but there is still something I don't understand.  Why is it that every video that is related to the ps4, there are people commenting on how PC will always remain the best and that the ps4 graphics will never match the pc graphics running at full level and blah blah blah and all this other junk?  People, we all know PC graphics will be the best.  You don't need to remind us!  We're gamers, we know that stuff.  Us playstation fans/gamers are excited because a new console has been announced, okay?  Don't get all butt hurt cause people are getting excited over a new console.  We gamers like to see new consoles and gameplay from that console.  That's all.

What I don't understand is that why is it that some people say stuff like the PS3 graphics are outdated compared to PC, well...wasn't that the case when the PS3 was like a few months old?

They act pompous and conceited 365 days a year.  It's the only way they're capable of communicating with other people.

If anything pc gamers should be happy. This will help Devs come out with higher end games to push your rig more. Lets face it, with most games the PC version is the afterthought.

Not so much the last few years... PC usually has the best version lately, it was early and mid gen that PC got a plethora of terrible ports.. With the PS4 using a PC architecture I'm hoping there will parity across all platforms for awhile.

ive learned to just ignore the pc fanboys. ppl who game on pc have this PC master race attitude about them and they get butthurt whenever some new console stuff comes out. its pathetic really. like yeah we know PC has better graphics. we also know that you spent over a grand to get it that way and have to constantly upgrade it to meet standards.

Just ignore them. I'm predominantly a PC player. I haven't even owned a PS3 in over a year. I'm very excited about the PS4 and what it means for all platforms going forward. Not all of us are pompous and conceited.

Nope. I built my PC in 2008 for $800 and only upgraded my Ram (an additional $60) last year. I have had no trouble running the latest titles at above average settings. The people who invest tons of money into their rig and constantly upgrade it are going well above and beyond what is actually necessary to meet standards.

well good for u. don't take it to offense, but im guessing you're probably a minority. either way you spent more than a new console on launch. and you had to make the effort to build it while console players don't have to do a thing but turn it on. do games look as good as ps3 and 360 games? (again, im not trying to be a dick, im actually curious i dont know jack about pc gaming)

I actually bought my whole set up for ~350 bucks. I got lucky because I work at a pawn shop and my boss didn't really know what to do with a gaming PC someone sold him.. All I had to do was upgrade the GFX card. But yeah, the games I play look miles better than the 360/PS3 counterparts.. However, that is pretty much irrelevant to me, the thing I really like is the stable frame-rate on nearly every game.

The best part (for me) about PC is the fun and excitement of upgrading. I don't see it as downside. I just haters sing with updating drivers.

I think it also has something to do with people who are also not impressed with how the graphics look on the ps4. I mean the games looked great but It wasn't that big of a leap that some people were expecting. Then again it's only the beginning.

Yes, the games look a much better in most cases. Higher resolutions alone can make a big difference, along with superior anti aliasing. That's not to say, however, that games on PS3 or 360 look bad. The effort of building a rig is minimal if you're actually interested in it. If not, you can get a great rig built to your specs at certain sites for about $100 more than it would cost to do it yourself. There's a lot more to PCs than just games, obviously. Some people just enjoy having the most powerful tech around. Many people enjoy the building and upgrading. You also have to take into account everything else a powerful PC enables you to do, such as using development kits and 3D modeling software. For many, the cost of a good rig is more than worth it, and the things you might consider downsides are afterthoughts.

Can't believe a single person didn't pick up on this.

There was a subtle statement made on the press conference, something along the lines of '...its a supercharged PC', in the context of the PS4 having an X86 arc..... your now in PC territory, hence all the craziness with PC gamers stomping about the graphical potential.

To be honest, I don't fully know about this "fact." The Ps4's technology and specs rival with some of the most high end specs that exist on PCs today. They fully proved that in the demonstrations in the conference itself. Sooo, good luck arguing PC gamers. The PS4 will give PC specs a really hard time, that's certain.

It ruins it for me personally because I'm only interested in playing single player on PC... like Witcher 2 and Civ 5. What annoys the hell out of me with Steam is that anytime you buy a PC game now you are forced to deal with some really annoying anti-pirating crap (Steam). It's a pain in the ass for me to try to switch it out to "offline mode" because it causes problems with my firewall. Like I say, I'm playing on a gaming series VAIO laptop and don't always have access to the internet. So it really ticks me off that I have to deal with this crap to play a game that I paid for.

This is the whole situation with the next-gen XBox where rumors are saying you'll have to be online to play. It's all a bunch of copy-protection/anti-pirating/anti-used crap that I find really annoying.

I think you stumbled upon the wrong forum. Feel free to drop by System Wars with the same post. This forum is considered a sanctuary for the fans of the Sony gaming platforms. Thanks!
