I say this because I want to get an External HDD for my ps3 and I was wondering if I can turn my PS3 into my main computer. I heard you can download linux onto your PS3, so I figured if I buy an external HDD and install an operating system on it, will this make it like a computer too? Also if you have done this, can you play PC games with it? I am curious and I want to know if I can do this.
well i havnt done this personally yet...but i know u can play dled versions of some games on the ps3...my friend has his setup all like a pc desktop...hes running linux on the ps3 and then hes running a version of windows off linux...he has a couple of dled and saved comp games that he plays on the ps3...ive got linux burnt and ready to put on my ps3 i just gotta find my flash drive so i can transfere a few things and im setting it up that way too...but im pretty sure u cant play like CD games on it...since i doubt it will read a PC CD...im not sure exactly how to do any of this but i know theres a online step by step thing for it...when i find it ill make a topic and post it on these forums
