yeh, im getting an 80gb on friday, i dont think u fill a form in, u just sign for it.
u gota call sony up and make sure u tell em so once they find a disc, they will send 2 u
[QUOTE="Zidaneski"]I think when you fill out the form it asks you if there is a disc inside and what disk. So you should be able to get it back.cooldustThe thing is that Sony are delivering my PS3 on thursday and taking my old ps3 away so theres no form to sign.
If they are taking the old one away and bringing you a new one......then i would get a prong or a tweezer and get that disk out Nao!
seriously.

I dont want to scratch the diskI'd like to, but my only experience with this has been with my friend whos PS3 died with GTA IV inside. He received a refurb. PS3 (which didn't work) and no GTA IV disc.
He now has to send the clearly not refurbished PS3 in (don't they even test what they send out!?), wait for another, and contact Sony to find out about the disc he already told them about when he ordered his coffin.
Better luck to you, TC.

Fill out the form and there will be a secton asking if there is any discs stuck inside the machine, circle yes and write down what game is in it. They'll send it back with your machine.
so this is just older models right, 20,60 gigs maybe older 40 and 80 gigs. DOes anyone know if there is a problem with the new 80and 60 gigs.theMarshellYep, a big problem with the new 80 gig models: they are not backwards compatible. The MGS 80 gig bundle *IS* backwards compatible though. It is confusing. My brother bought an 80 gig model after he saw mine was ps2-compliant only to find that his was not! Kidding aside, the PS3 hardware itself is fine. I would lean towards how the owner of a particular system treats it as directly correlating to its longevity. Obviously this is not going to be a hard and fast rule though.
Did he write on the paper they send you that GTA was in their. Because it asks if anything is inside and you circle yes or no and then it acks what is inside.I'd like to, but my only experience with this has been with my friend whos PS3 died with GTA IV inside. No you are wrong sorry. They send you a pre-paid box when your system breaks to put your playstation in and in it is a form you fill out which one of questions asks if anything is inside. Then the next question asks if yes what is inside. If you say no and something is inside it says they are not responsible for that and if you call them they can't do anything about it.

Well I would raise hell and demand a free one if he has a copy of the form he filled out or if they still have the form and see that it says it contains GTA then they owe him a new. Also about the playstation complain and you will get it fixed for free then complain you want something else for the bull. You will probably get something out of it.
I am waiting on my PS3 to get back. I was going to get it friday-I thought-but UPS said they are closed the next 3 days after thanksgiving so I have to wait until monday. I hope its not broke and it is fixed

Oh yeah, he's going after them.
He has plenty of experience dealing with customer service because, well, let's just say he's a multi-system owner.;)
Good luck with your next one.

I dont want to scratch the disk It shouldnt scratch it ive thrown my COD4 disk across the room and it still plays.i heard a lot about 60g's dying, it's because sony doesent want you to use bc so they set a curse on the older model. seems logical.polishkid99I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened.
Damm thats what i dont want to hear  i only got to play Resistance 2 for 10 mins and it died :( Thanks nyc05 i hope your freind gets his GTA IV backI'd like to, but my only experience with this has been with my friend whos PS3 died with GTA IV inside. Didn't mean to spook you, cooldust, I just wanted to be honest about my friend's issues.
On a positive note, I'm sure that's a very rare occurrence, and your case with them ought to go much smoother.:D
