Taking back my crappy madcatz headset tommorow seeing as it refuses to work and il use the money to get a new game instead. I really want a sort of big adventure game, so i was thinking along the lines of oblivion. I know all the reviews say its amazing but does 50 hours of first person sword slashing jus get boring?

I rented it and was bored after 30 minutes. The framerate is horrible. The sword slashing and battling in FPS is mundane at best. The 3rd person view is worse than first person. To make it short, it was bad! Real bad. To each their own but I didn't like it and thanks for reminding me to take it back to blockbuster to see if they'll let me get something else.
no its a great game more than 50 hours easy, plus you have all kinds guilds to join, thieves where you steal, dark brotherhood you murder people, fighters you save and hlp people etc. its a good game lots to explore and if you want something to keep you busy until september this is the game that will do it. and all that i mentioned i not even part of the main quest so, i reccomend it, if you want adventure
Oblivion is amazing. Its my most played game by far. I have played over 60 hours and still am not bored. It has sooo much to do. The combat really isnt bad. Its a lot of block swing ect.. In addition you can use archery or spells to hurt enemies. I honestly think it is the best game on the PS3 as of right now. Resistance would be 2nd imo. Just to warn you the first hour or two are slow. After that it picks up and becomes a lot of fun. Good luck!
Amazing game... State of the art visuals and graphics with new engines...they looks really great. The game really has a high level of polish and detail on every single object in the game, all the way from Daedric swords to plates and goblets that are found on tables.
The game is really fun, combat is fast-paced, rather than slow and boring in Morrowind. Lots of quests, tons of different things you can do.
You will not be bored, but will be rewarded with a great gaming experience.
in my opinion oblivion sux! i been playing that game for about 15 hours and is so damn boring! i traded that game for ninja gaiden sigma and rainbow six vegas (now we are talking!). the battle system is stupid and the dungeons are so repetitive.
if you like exploring and finding things then oblivion is for you...
Oblivion isn't just a sword fighting game. You don't even have to use swords at all if you don't want. You create your character and start out on an epic adventure to save the world from chaos, and you can do everything at your own pace. The world is huge and you'll easily take a few months at least to do everything. You explore, do quests, build your character up to be a one man army, make your own magic spells, and all sorts of fun stuff.
I'm still undecided on this game as well. Looks very interesting but i'm afraid i might get bored of it like i usually do from these types of games. How does this game compare to Twilight Princess, i have it on the Wii and played about 10-12 hours of it then got bored. Will this game do the same thing. I want a long, new game to play seeing as how school is out this week.

Many have described this game as a medieval Grand Theft Auto, with a huge world to explore and the ability to do basically whatever you want, when you want. You can make your character fight with weapons, spells, snipe from the shadows, or do everything. There are no limits to what you can do.
I had my dout's about oblivion because i'm not much into exploring dungoens but I liked it. Lot's to do have'nt finished it yet got a little bit repative but I will go back to it

I love GTA, have never got bored of any of those games. I liked Knights of the Old Republic a lot back on the Xbox, that was one of my top 3 Xbox games. If Oblivion is like that then i will probably like it because KOTOR is still to this day one of the best games i have played.
Played and beat it on the OG xbox already, Sigma looks cool but for the most part it's the same game, not worth the $60 to me IMO. For those that haven't played it yet definitely get it, very good game.
