I am upgrading my standard 32"inch TV to a flat screen.

I want to enjoy both size and quality of video. And I love to play PS3 and really want to enjoy its graphics.

How good is a Samsung C430 50" tv compared to a 40" Full HD LCD. Both cost the same.

50" is massive but its 720p. Would it really make a difference at this size?

Plasma Tv's lose their black color saturation after a long time of use and the difference in size between 40&50 inch isn't really the huge.

I'd say go for the 40 inch LCD tv if it supports full hd and it runs on 100 mhz,it makes gaming much smoother.

If it supports 120hz then you shut that crap off as it causes lag in games.

As for the plsma only being 720p, it's not just size that matters when it comes to resolution. Distance from the tv is a big player as well. If you're sitting a fair distance back you will not see the difference, not to mention the number of actual 1080p games for PS3 is pitiful. I force my games into 720p anyways.

Also, why rag on the black levels of a plsma then say nothing about how TERRIBLE LCD tv's are a not only blacks but almost the entire color spectrum when compared to plasma.

There are literally only 8 games on the ps3 that are native 1080p. And resolution is one of the last things you look for when determining the picture quality and depending on your viewing distance from the t.v you may not even be able to see a noticeable difference between 1080p on the 50" let alone on the 40" t.v. Defiantly go for the plasma the black levels are lower and the color is better all in all you will get much better picture quality then a similair priced lcd and even those costing alot more. And 25% increase in screen size from 40" to 50"isn't huge but its definitely a noticeable difference that will provide a more immersive experience in movie and games and for me going from a 32" to 40" isn't really much of an upgrade only 25% increase. Going from 32" to 50" is much better as your getting over a 50% increase in screen size providing a very noticeable difference and will out class the lcd in picture quality. Plasma is better for gaming anyways as they don't suffer from motion blur lcd that claim 120hz or 240hz is just a trick that adds extra frames that don't exist to try to allevate the inherent motion blur found in lcd there still only 60hz input and like all motion flow technology it adds additional input lag to your t.v which is bad for gaming. Its a no brainer really to go for the plasma.
