what happens when u get a platinum trophy? is there some kind of huge celebratory cut scene, or do u just get a 2d image of a platinum trophy icon for a few secs and thats it?

i mean, the trouble some people go to get a platinum is ridiculous,...look at this quote from another forum about a guys who neeeded , just plan neeeeeeeeeded the platinum so bad

"

The only trophy that really annoyed me was the Friendship 4 player trophy.

It forced me to purchase 3 extra controllers and I had to wait a further 3 weeks for my Platinium. I live in a small town and at 40 years old have no one I can borrow off.

I really can't see the point of making all of us do a 4 player, 2 player would have been enough. Or better, no friendship trophy at all. If the idea was to increase sales of Sony controllers, you lucked out with me. I brought the cheap ones off Ebay

That's exactly it.

It may be "trouble" for you, but for someone else, it's a challenge, a hurdle; A.K.A. fun.

Depends. Some people like trophies and others don't. I feel like I've completed everything the game has to offer when I get a platinum trophy so that's why I usually go for them.

Platinum Trophies are the HARDEST possible Trophy you can get...not many folks even have 1. So if you meet someone with an actual PLATINUM, you know they got themselves a Rare Trophy.

I hope one day to get Platinums myself.

EDIT : Numbers Lock Problem above.

I don't think I would ever go that far although I did get a badge in a game that had a off-line co-op match that I managed to get by useing a old SIXAXIS and my DS3 at the same time to get that badge. It was the toughest game I ever played. As for platinum trophies there nice to get to know I was able to get everything possible out of a game.

Do you think they are worth it? If yes, good. If no, good. It's like asking someone if it's really "worth it" for them to put a jigsaw puzzle together. They probably won't get a check in the mail from the puzzle makers because the person finished their puzzle. It's just for fun.

Like others, I like getting them because they make me feel like I have done everything there is to do in the games that I would play normally. I do not think that playing easy but bad games to get them (Terminator Salvation, Hannah Montana) is worth it though.

The point of it is you feel good after getting one instead of a bronze i mean i got a bronze for pressing pause in Matt Hazzard the only game you should not be proud of getting a Platinum is Terminator Salvation

sorry,i should have been more specific...i mean for someone to buy 2 extra controllers and pay money, just so he can get a trophy that says u played split screen with 3 other people (imaginary friends who are not there)....is this consistent with 'getting the most out of a game"?

The players skill shouldn't have been judged by how good his friends are. So he deserves a trophy more for using his initiative and finding a way to get it on his own. It's not like it was going to give him four trophies so his mates can have one too.
