Ok, so heres the deal:

I just recently bought a HD lcd monitor, here, and a vga to component converter, here, so that i could play ps3 on a monitor.

When i plugged the component cables into the adapter, i turned on the ps3 and the monitor on, and i clicked source about fifty time, but it couldnt find a signal, any help?

the adapter you linked doesnt look like a vga to component adapter

it's a VGA to S-Video/RCA adapter and the description says it's supposed to output video from a pc to a tv and not from a component source to a VGA monitor

Make sure the lcd supports HDCP before using an HDMI cable.

His monitor does support HDCP over the DVI-D connection. The HDMI to DVI cable would be the best thing you could use to hook up the PS3. You can get one for like $6 on monoprice.com. You'll just have to run the sound separately using the composite cables since DVI does not do sound. It's really easy to do, just have to make the correct settings adjustments in the PS3 menus.

If you had both cables the HDMI to DVI and the standard cables for audio try hooking up just the HDMI and holding the power button ( should hear 3 beeps). You may have an older DVI to HDMI cable if I'm not mistaken there are different revisions like a standard HDMI ex/ 1.1, 1.2, 1.3. It does state on the link you posted for the monitor it supports HDCP but you may (after checking the above) call HP and make sure it does support HDCP.

While the PS3 is off/stand-by, turn it on with the power button (NOT with the controller) but keep the power button pressed down after it's starting up. After a short bit of time, you'll hear a second beep; now you can take your finger off the power. This makes the PS3 go into an auto-detect mode for audio/video connections.

I dunno, I'd try a different cable, Did you read some of the reviews for that cable? Some of the reviews were pretty horrid.

Did you set your video output on the ps3? Hook it up with composite cables to an old TV. Set it, then turn it off and hook it up to your monitor.
