I'll be moving to canada for a year in November and im hoping to get my PS3 shipped over with me.

The only problem is that because im from the UK i'll need to use aplug convertor to power it up.

Will this affect/ruin my PS3 or will it be safe?

Using the convertor shouldn't cause you any problems. Finding out if your PS3 can be played with the voltage/current settings in your country is more of a concern.
