This may seem like a stupid question: I have no Idea.
Can I play a Ps2 game (timesplitters future perfect) via my PS3 and still play online? Or is the online thing different or what, since its a diff platform would it mean diff accounts/networks etc?
Oh and is there anyway for me to transfer my (80% completion) progress from my Ps2 memory card to my PS3's (internal PS2) slot..?
Oh I just tried it - , trying to connect online : I got the MSG "No valid 'Your Network Configuration' file detected on memory card (PS2) in MEMORY CARD slot 1. Anyway to resolve/fix this?
I'm playing Test Drive Unlimited which is a Ps2 game on my Ps3 and I'm playing Online via my Ps3 it needed me to make a network save on the HD memory card and that was it ..
1) yes you can play your online PS2 games on PS3 you just need to insert the Network Installation PS2 Format Disk or a game that lets you install a network config file on your PS2. Do this for your PS3 and tehre you go no it wont mess with the Ps3's network.
2) you need a ps2 to ps3 memory transfer device to get your ps2 games saves to ps3.
I transfered my PS2 memory data to my PS3 but it didn't transfer my Ps2 network settings for the system so when I was playing SD vs R 07 it said that it didn't detect any settings and asked me to make a new one right there, I didn't even have to dig up my configuration disc

I'm not sure if Tiger 07 for the ps2 had online? If it does, then make sure you have a virtual ps2 memory card created and assigned to slot 1. Then go into the online portion, it should prompt you that that file doesn't exist and send you to the screen to create one. Toss in your internet settings (most of the time all auto) and save the file. I know with EA there is another step to create a EA online ID. Thats jsut putting in an ID and a password.  Â
