Playstation 3 dramatic sales turn around

In Europe the Playstation 3 for4 consecutive weeks has outsold the xbox360 in2 to 1, and several analyst likeJames Rivington reports for Tech.co.uk that PS3 is on the charge in markets outside the US, and Xbox 360 may be in danger this Christmas even before the year of new Gran Turismo andMetal Geararrives:

"The Sony PS3 could be about to pull off one of the biggest turn-arounds the games market has ever seen. After a slow start, where Sony's console was hampered by its high pricing and lack of quality games, the PlayStation 3 now looks like it's on a roll.

Also The new $399 40GB PS3 is already sold out online and not available in stores at CompUsa according to the website. Upon making a call to 1-800-Compusa the representative stated that they expect more stock back within 2 weeks.

It will be interesting to see it this trend continues at other retailers this holiday season.

And In the week ending 28 October, VG Chartz has the PS3 outselling the Xbox 360 by 10 per cent in the UK, and by almost 50 per cent in Europe /other markets.

l'm not surprised. The last couple of weeks have been really good for the PS3 in my opinion.

certainly is promising, and at the new prices the PS3 is certainly far more reasonable. some great deals out there too now.

itll be interesting to see if this is only another brief reaction to the new prices though, or if itll be sustained throughout christmas and into the new year. time will tell.

Like I keep saying. Sony never does good on year one. But they turn it all around and win. This will be no diffrent.

Good to see the ps3 doing alot better now in sales, thought that wont stop cows from bashing the ps3 on the forums. Can't wait for the ps3's killer games coming this year and next, its gonna be a good year :)4dragonscasino

To be honest I thought for sure the momentum was going to change. But I really had it more figured for late 08. With a crushing amazing holiday 08. Not this soon. You add in what that area will already have on the shelves to a 08 Christmas, Thats when I thought it wold be just HUGE! And still should be. But this late 07 surge I did not see.

If it does turn around, then it looks like the only thing hapering the PS3 WAS the price.W3dotCOM

Europeans and Japanese on average are too smart to buy a console with 33% hardware failure rate. Microsoft makesdecent software, but their hardware has always been garbage. Most of the games I want to play that are only the 360 I'd rather play on the PC versions anyway. My forecast is that in3 years PS3 will overtake the 360 by a large margin in those 2 regions, and eventually will catch up with the Wii. In America at best the PS3 will only beable tie with the 360.
