Do you like the design of the game cases?
Personally, I don't. They look kinda weird next to the competitor's game cases, the PS2 game cases, etc.
What about you?

I like 'em. I never knew why DVD cases were so big. They only need to be as big as the disc inside.
It's easy to distinguish them too, so that's a plus.
I'd like it if they'd use the same case that they use for blu-ray movies. The game cases are too bulky.adumar94
Where would our manuals go?
Personally I think they are extremely slick, and well designed .. big ups for Sony on the cases ..

actually i think the "competitors" game cases look wierd and crappy and old next to the blu-ray cases. the blu-ray cases have much better compact size that makes more sense then the big old dvd vhs-sized cases, and they have way cooler style.

well uh where are you going to put the manual pal?

 What's with peoples bluntness tonight ..
Kinda pointless thread, but i accept them, no love no hate. Its whats on the inside that counts:oops:warbmxjohn
dude- when was the last time any thread had a real meaningful point- its not like anything important was ever solved on gamespot forums. the real point is to have discussions about whatever we want regarding gaming.
you could put the manual on the disc and have a digital manual. then it'd never get lost.
just a thought.

Possibly work .. but I doubt it .. for sports games you would have to keep reverting back to it stopping your game everytime you wanted to check a button scheme ..
I like the paperbacks ..
developers could easily integrate it into the pause menu so that you could check it anytime.
really, they should already have controls in the pause menu.

Point taken. 99.999% it is entirely useless, but once in a while I gain useful information from this board.[QUOTE="somesthetic"]you could put the manual on the disc and have a digital manual. then it'd never get lost.

Why not both?
They are alright. I think I like the Blu-Ray cases more as well.FFF4N4T1C
Same here. I do like the PS3 cases, but it'd be better if they were as thin as the blu-ray cases.... yeah, better thin.

a digital could work. In a future firmware update you could have a manual option in the games bar and it would open it up. With in-game xmb the way it is now you wouldn't have to stop much of anything.

Yea it would work .. just personally for me it would feel like a nuisance .. but I'm sure many people would love it ..

yeah well the manual has to contain information like how to play the game, meaning, how to put into the ps3 and so on. i dont know why but its probably written somewhere that there needs to be physical information like this.

and somewhere else it should be written that if you need to consult a manual to put a game in the PS3 correctly, you're obligated to sell it to someone with an IQ higher than a plant.
I love em. They look good especially since they're see through. And the way Sony's done the box makes Boxarts look WAY better. Like GTA IV's boxart looks great same with COD4 and UT3. The only thing they could use now is the PSN logo, but it's too late to use that, but still I like the game cases. Plus they're smaller helps the environment right? :DG-Legend
Exactlly what I was thinking:P

See, I kinda think the BluRay cases are too thin... it makes it harder to read the spine from a distance. I like the width of the PS3 cases because I can remind myself which games I have available without bending down and opening up the cabinet to look at them. I also like the fact that they're shorter than DVD cases because it differentiates what it is so even if you couldn't read what it was, you could TELL what it was by its size. Also, the shorter size and the clear case makes it look very, as someone else put it, futuristic... which I think is very appropriate.
The only real complaint I have about the case design is that if I ever break one of the cases, finding a replacement is probably going to be a huge pain. But I'm pretty careful with my stuff so I don't anticipate that happening.
