I went to my local Target today to check out some games, and noticed that the PlayStation 3 60GB is sold out!They've always had plenty in stock, and now since the price cut they are gone. I think this is a good sign of things to come for the PlayStation 3.
not to burst your bubble, but a target manager told me (on th forum here somewhere...) that they activated the price drop too soon. (sunday) and that they were going to have to take them off of the shelves because of something with the systems not being able to raise the prices back up. he said they'd be on sale thursday or something... odd that they wouldn't just put 'em out today.
maybe that wasn't company wide, just his store. so if they sold out, then that's great for sony! (not so great for me)
I stopped by my local CC today to pick up a PS3 and I couldn't believe it when the sales rep told me that they had a rush on them earlier in the day and had completely sold out of them. I then ran over to BB which is not far from there and the same deal. All gone. I was there last thursday and they had a huge stack of them and the sales kid I talked to knew about the upcoming pricedrop and laughed when I asked how certain he'd be if I could pick up a ps3 when the price came down this week. Basically said that there is no way in hell they would sell out. Apparently the kid remembered me when I came in today and said "Sorry man, I couldn't have expected the rush we've had for it. They're all gone".

yeah that was true but that was yesterday. they cut the prices on sunday when they werent supposed to until monday. they have been back on the shelves at 499$ since yesterday
