Im shocked everything seems fine but playing games. How do I back up my data? Can I save my game saves to an SD card? Will my rank in ressistance and R6 vegas stay on my ps3 account if I get a new ps3 shipped to me?ApocaLypse805
my friend got his ps3 replaced, he asked if they could take his hard drive and put it in his new system for him, and they did. Either that or they fixed his system and sent the same one back to him. I think they fixed his, but he swears it's a different serial number, so I don't know.

just use a flash drive or external hard drive to backup the data. you can't get it back when you send your console in, they just recieve and send out a refurb to help them have a great turn around time for warranties.. i had to send mine back for that exact problem. my refurb is solid and silent. call SONY they will sort it out.
My ps3 doesnt play games anymore. It still turns on and plays dvd's. Everything else works fine. But the 2 ps3 games I have never load/play. What could be the problem? Anyone else encounter this? Why would it stop playing ps3 games all of a sudden?ApocaLypse805Just curious, but do I need to mail anything out to activate the warranty or can I just wait until I need mine repaired?
You can't take the HDD out, it says that they need all the pieces when you bought the PS3. That means the console, HDD, cables and also the controller. And plus you need to attach your photocopied receipt. No need to include the free Blu Ray disc though if you got one. Plus you can copy your saved games to a memory card or flash drive. As for your RFOM or R6V rankings, I'm not sure about that one.

^^ You don't have to mail out anything to get your system fixed. Oh except the console itself :p

And a copy of the receipt. And the controller and charging cable, and power, ethernet and component cables. :p

You DO NOT have to send in a copy of your receipt. It says that in the warranty paperwork thatcomes with the PS3, it also says you don't have to send in your cables or controllers. Read the manual before you post

I have no clue, maybe you didn't register your PS3 when you got it. It says very clearly in the warranty paper work that you need to send ONLY the console, and you can take the HDD out as well.

They very clearly requested the console and six boxed components (listed above) and a copy of the receipt. For my warranty. I guess they have more than one procedure for handling warranties.
