the ps2 lasted 6 almost 7 years itself. is it hard to believe the ps3 could last 10?

We all know that Cell is revolutionary, PS4 main processor wll be based on Cell but the problem here is the graphic engine, which by 2016 will be completly useless, so 10 years is too much.

not necessarely. look at the games the ps3 can produce. athe console war isnt a huge graphics war anymore. sure there will be better out there...but games look amazing and they will always look good. this isnt looking 10 years back at what the ps1 was able to do...

we are nearing a point where we wont beable to tell the diffrence anymore. it will get so smooth the eyes cant tell its just a ton of polygons.

so thats why i disagree about the ps3 going out because of graphics.

ok 2016 is waaaaaay too much the "10 year plan" is never going to happen with the very fast changes in technology. i mean just look at how fast the PC world moved from core 2 duo's to now quad cores, its amazing! im pretty convinced the PS4 will come out around 2012/2013 by MAX MAX MAX 2014 but no way more than that!!!

although i don't know what competition you guys are talking about. the 360 and microsoft's gaming division will be dead in about 2009/2010 at latest and all thats left will be nintendo which will no way go into HD gaming and will just continue to be innovative in their own weird way.

And trust me, in 10 years nowadays visuals will be considered poor, you should agree with this.

On the other side, by 2010 microsoft will be releasing their next Xbox, and sony will be under pressure to make a new console in order to be released 2 or so years later. The market works that way, life is that way. It's all about money and at the moment technology grows and develops faster and faster as the time passes.

once again, the gaming industry already went through a change. the wii and ps2 prove its not the graphics. we are no longer in a graphics race like we were back in the nes-ps1 era.
