****Playstation 4 Arriving Way Too Soon****

Now most people who are reading this probably have already read this up so is old news, but from what i have read in more than one example, the playstation 4 is surpose to launch in 2010-2011.

I love the Playstation 3 but i think its still on its way up, there are still many games that were surpose to arrive within its 10 year lifespan, that has just been cut down to 4-5 years (Released 2006 America..2007 for Aussi). Im just asking how many people think this is too early, or if you feel that the playstation 3 could really pick up in a year or two aka (The price finally drops so people who were once addicted to other consoles finally feel that they would open there wallets for the ps3).

Even before you started explaining yourself you completely invalidated your topic. We know about this, it's old news and it isn't happening.

Unfortunately, we don't have the right here. We've only been given Amendment 5 to the extent of which the Terms of Service allows us to practice it.

I doubt it... Why ? well, Why would Sony bother trying to make a PS4 so quick after all the MArketing Aftermath ? It could be a good blow out and the graphics would kill a mill to the 360 about 3,600,000 times lol but, It won't happen I believeYoung_Charter

Sony got hurt by Microsoft bring out their console early and getting a lead on the PS3. Sony might want to stop that happening again by bring their next console out earlier than anyone expects. If this happens Sony will still say the PS3 has a 10 year life as they will still be planning to bring out games for the PS3 even if the PS4 will be their main console.

Sony never said that the PS3 wouldn't be succeeded for ten years. Only that it would be supported in some form for at least ten years. Just as the PS1 was, and the PS2 will be. (In fact Sony has specifically stated that the PS2 had the same "10 year" promise)

I think Sony learned their lesson with the PS3 launch. I doubt we'll see a 600 dollar console from them again.

Sony has been taking losses as of late, why would they beef up R&D for a new product of a line when the existing product is just starting to take profits on the hardware?

It might just happen although I don't see the next system getting any better grafics wise. Sony's probobly gonna do what Nintendo did and just add motion controls. After seeing Nintendo open a whole new market with casuals Microsoft and Sony are gonna want a piece of the pie.jdc6305

if they do make something like that, hopefully they find a better way to do it, becuase the wii freaking sucks, and the wiimote is ridiculoiusly annoying.

EDIT : Reconsidering the economy and the PS3's performance, make that '13...

I hate to say it since my time with the PS3 has been so brief, but I think it may not be far from correct. I believe we'll see the PS4 in mid/holiday 2011. Microsoft's next console isn't far off I expect, and Sony will need to launch earlier or at least simultaneously this time around to stay in the fight. If they lose ground again like they did this gen, they may very well dig themselves a nice little grave to crawl into.

A large chunk of the naysayers in this thread may very well be suffereing from denial. ;) I know the PS3 was alot of money, but think rationally. 5 years has been the typical lifespane for 3 gens now. I dont really expect it to change.

Yup, I've heard it, and its way to soon. It's supposed to be the size of an Nintendo Wii, hopefully it will have

better graphics and new features in it with better interactivity than the sixaxis. Its either meant to be late 2010

0r early 2011. Sony are making their move far too quicka as there is still a lot of games and accesories still to come out.

Theres a new wireless voice activated PS3 controller coming out this year in 2009. A lot of the cool things coming

out for the PS3 will have to be stopped when the PS4 comes out. And it better not be to expensive either cause i just got

a PS3 for Christmas and i dont want to be rushing to the PS4 database researching new games that should be coming out on

the blimmin PS3 instead!!!
